There is one. And edgy or not, I'm right. Even 90's tycoon games were dumb. If you dumb them down (and that's what this is), it is just going to end up as Sims: Coasters. Also here is how all modern tomb raiders work. Press Ctrl to sneak, press W to walk up to bad guy, press E to kill him, repeat 10000 times with drool coming out your mouth until mom says it is time for bed and threatens to confiscate your dudebox.

My bad, I meant rating. And I have nothing to contribute since I'm not a tycoon or a Tomb Raider player.

People is becoming shittier and shittier with each passing year, and so are games. It's quite logical.

Games have been shit for 15 years but at least you get the occasional gem, and they exist on Steam too so I don't see a problem. You don't have to sift through the millions of shitty games on the store page, you can just search for the one you want.

There is a lot of shit in hypermarkets and malls and they are still around.

Steam will survive. Some developers won't. Everything is fine with the world.

All it means is that people need to rely more on reviews and game websites/channels/tools to help people sort through all the crap and find games to suit them. I have a website that I visit each day that shows almost every released game in the world. Each day there are several new ones. As long as I visit daily, I see almost every game that ever gets released so I don't miss anything. And anything that seems promising to me I can just google and find reviews of it.

Unfortunately I don't foresee any Steam crash, but as an user I'm totally "muh quality control", yes. Have you been on a trip for 2 weeks, came back home and tried to check out if any good stuff got released on Steam?

When you have more refined ways to tell and keep track of the quality stuff being released there's no problem with getting billions of shitware every day, but Steam release system is an ever moving treadmill where the shit stuff pushes away the "worth a look" stuff in the blink of an eye. They need at least better systems to reward quality with visibility and push away faster the shit stuff. The steam recommendations thing sucks really bad, it's almost never "hey, liked this game? Take a look at these similar, good ones" but more like "oh you played that game, look at these 'mostly negative' rated, free to play clones of it!". Back in my last ticket to support Steam was taking 2 to 3 months to reply, now there are reports of tickets taking 8 months... to receive an automatic answer that doesn't help you.

I don't want Steam to be shut down but I'd love to see Valve drowning in their own blood, desperately trying to save their asses. Retarded company and their mongoloid employees surfing on wheeled tables trying to attach dildos at each others' asses and experimental circles testing headless turkeys' catapults at the next room. Valve became the joke of the industry.

They dont seem to care, they are typical retardo corporation these days, much like EA, Activision and what not. The lack of quality control simply made Steam into google play II, and in 2017 i am afraid it will only get worse...

Even a SJW like sterling which studied the "greenlight" experiment extensively has more sense than usually journos or retardo users like Hoax, that dont even understand whats goin down in the threads they post trolls shitpost.

So yeah Steam Needs To Stop Selling Toys Full Of Cum

THE STEAM AWARDS: Finalists announced, voting to commence Dec 22nd

In November, we asked the Steam Selection Committee to nominate games for the prestigious Steam Awards - and while we expected to receive a large response, even we couldn’t have anticipated the over 15 million nominations that came through.

But the time for tabulation is over. The Steam Selection Committee has spoken… here are your 2016 Nominees. Come back every day from December 22nd to December 30th to vote for each award, and find out the winners on New Year’s Eve!

December 22nd 10 AM PST
The “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” Award - Some people just need a hug.
-Borderlands 2
-Dead by Daylight
-Far Cry 3
-Far Cry 4
-Portal 2

December 23rd 10 AM PST
The “I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award” AwardThis title didn’t have a huge marketing machine behind it, but you found it and loved it. Then you told your friends about it. And they loved it. And now that little game that could is about to win an award… but always remember: you totally found it first.
-Euro Truck Simulator 2
-Paladins
-Starbound
-Stardew Valley
-Unturned

December 24th 10 AM PST
The “Test of Time" AwardThis award is for the game that is just as good today as the day you first played it. Newer games may come out, but it doesn’t matter… you’ll always come back to play this one.
-Age of Empires II HD
-The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
-Sid Meier’s Civilization V
-Team Fortress 2
-Terraria

December 25th 10 AM PST
The “Just 5 More Minutes” AwardYou have an early day tomorrow. You need to get some sleep, so you’re just going finish one more thing before you decide to tuck in for the night. Just one more. Wait, one more. What’s that you say? It’s 2:30 AM? This award is for the game that keeps you playing late.
-Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
-Rocket League
-Sid Meier’s Civilization VI
-Fallout 4
-Terraria

December 26th 10 AM PST
The “Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” AwardSome games melt your face. Maybe it was a crazy plot twist. Maybe you just got your wisdom teeth removed. Either way, this game BLOWS YOUR MIND.
-Bioshock Infinite
-DOOM
-Grand Theft Auto V
-Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
-The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

December 27th 10 AM PST
The “Game Within A Game Award” Award - Kinder Eggs. Peanut Butter Cups. Jelly Donuts. All great things stuffed with other great things. Like a mighty turducken, this award celebrates the best mini game hidden within another game.
-Garry’s Mod
-Grand Theft Auto V
-The Stanley Parable
-Tabletop Simulator
-The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

December 28th 10 AM PST
The “I’m Not Crying, There’s Something In My Eye” Award - Games are fun. But sometimes games become more than that, and touch you in a way you weren’t expecting. This award celebrates the game that blindsided you emotionally. You weren’t expecting to cry. It wasn’t in the plan. But it happened nonetheless.
-Life Is Strange
-To the Moon
-This War of Mine
-Undertale
-The Walking Dead

December 29th 10 AM PST
The “Best Use Of A Farm Animal” AwardAnimals are rad and almost any game is better for including them. This game used a farm animal in the best way possible.
-ARK: Survival Evolved
-Blood and Bacon
-Farming Simulator 17
-Goat Simulator
-Stardew Valley

Of course, we intended to have a final 9th award, a write-in category where Committee members could suggest a new and exciting award. But the response was so overwhelming that one category didn’t seem enough… and so we decided to add not one, but four new awards!

December 30th 10 AM PST
The “Boom Boom” Award - Let’s face it: explosions are pretty great. In a blockbuster movie they’re thrilling. In a celebration with fireworks they’re beautiful. And when they’re behind a cop putting on sunglasses they’re nothing short of glorious. These games understand the fine art of detonation.
-BroForce
-DOOM
-Just Cause 3
-Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
-Kerbal Space Program

The “Love/Hate Relationship” Award - “Games are just supposed to be fun!”… oh sweet summer child, your naivety is adorable. Games can be more than fun. They can be challenges that demand perfection. These games are punishing gauntlets that make you question your very skill… a crucible that will push you either to greatness or a breaking point. You will wake up family members as you scream. Words will come out of your mouth that would make your mom blush. Your chill friends will ask you, “Why do you play something that stresses you out?”… and you will stare at them with steely eyes and reply, “Because I love it.”
-Dark Souls III
-Darkest Dungeon
-Dota 2
-Geometry Dash
-Super Meat Boy

The “Sit Back and Relax” Award - Did you read the description for the “Love/Hate Relationship” Award? This is the opposite.
-ABZU
-Cities Skylines
-Euro Truck Simulator 2
-Mini Metro
-Viridi

The “Better With Friends” AwardThere are some games out there that just aren’t the same when you play by yourself. Maybe you need to have a friend to watch your back. Maybe you need to have a friend that you can stab in the back. Either way, mirth is awaiting those that gather friends to play these games.
-Don’t Starve Together
-Gang Beasts
-Golf With Your Friends
-Left 4 Dead 2
-Magicka

VOTING RULES
Every day, from December 22nd to December 29th, starting at 10 AM Pacific, a new category will be available for voting. Each category will only be open for voting for 24 hours before moving onto the next category, so be sure to check in every day to vote! On New Year’s Eve, the winners will be announced and we can bask in the collective glory of the 2016 Steam Award Winners!
