Mikayel said:SuicideBunny, you're a person with real taste - what's your take on the game so far and would you reccomend a purchase if 1) I am not broke and have spare money 2) Have enjoyed all the past Obsidion outputs (even NWN2 OC, though that was like a 7/10 at best) but 3) have not played any of the mass effect games (but did play the first Army of 2 and Gears of War 1)?
are you sucking up to me so you can have someone to blame if it turns out to be your first shitty obsidian game?Mikayel said:SuicideBunny, you're a person with real taste - what's your take on the game so far and would you reccomend a purchase if 1) I am not broke and have spare money 2) Have enjoyed all the past Obsidion outputs (even NWN2 OC, though that was like a 7/10 at best) but 3) have not played any of the mass effect games (but did play the first Army of 2 and Gears of War 1)?

the c&c is awesomesauce, the game is non-linear in a non-trivial way, as in the order you do things in can have quite the impact, depending on the choices you make, something you see far less often than actual c&c in games, and if you can stomach linear pseudo-shooters with sticky cover like gears of war the combat and mission map design shouldn't annoy the hell out of you, as it does in my case.
i'd say go buy it, but try to play a non-confrontation stealth character.
This is why I consider calling a game out for being buggy bad critique. Too much of a individualistic and temporal thing to really gauge.hoochimama said:Maybe I'm just lucky but I'm playing the pc version and haven't run into a single bug, going into the second half of the game now.

Mikayel said:Isn't the torrent like 10 gigs? Not to mention installation space - bro do you have any idea how much space HD blu-ray quality tranny porn takes up?
Seriously, just not into torrenting. Used to a lot back in the when, then I just kind of stopped. Probably cuz I had a job and could pay for shit, plus even if I get 5 hours of enjoyment out of it 50 bucks isn't a bad deal - lord knows I've spent as much on booze for roughly the same amount of knee-slapping at some pisshole bar or date-rape club.

Well, most of the threads outside of the Codex (here it's just essentially Skyway style and hunting for Kodex Kool Kredits) seem to be only about either that it sucks because you don't hit 100% of the time, or that it's supposedly horrifyingly bugged or ugly. So in essence, bullshit.Flying Spaghetti Monster said:Eh, any PC gamer learned to deal with bugs years ago. If bugs were the worst thing about AP, you wouldn't have nearly as many threads.

How is it better than Deus Ex's AI? So far I've heard that enemies don't respond to arms fire as long as they aren't getting hit, often don't respond to corpses (you can't even move bodies?), and stop fighting you if you turn off an alarm (when they are currently engaged). The AI, and the stealth game in general sounds pretty bad.TwinkieGorilla said:* A.I. can be incredibly dumb at times. at one point i silently took down 4 baddies in the same room, and somehow none of them noticed. but is nowhere near as retarded as some of the reviews make it seem. plenty of other beloved games like Deus Ex & GTA which have stupider A.I. than this (FO3 might have the stupidest AI i've ever seen and somehow the "journalists" never seemed to bawww about it).
