I was kinda hoping it would encourage people to try new games, but I don't have any actual data for that. I don't know if video streaming encourages people to try new shows, for example, unless it's the pandemic and people are desperate to watch whatever
Think of it as TV for videogames and you'll easily map out what the future holds. A lethargic, subscription-captive audience will widely deprecate the struggle of a competitive market in favour of "might as well, there's nothing better on" fodder. Which, yes, is a very topical discussion for this here thread.

Bioshock has decent shooting mechanics, a cohesive environment that doesn't look like it was drawn on an LSD binge and at least tries to do this "storyline" thing. It even has a plot twist or 2.

Bioshock's shooting mechanics and gunfeel are every bit as terrible as TOW's. It does have beautiful environments though (character models look even worse than TOW though). The storyline is stupid, and Armin Shimerman's performance as Ryan is the only thing that makes it work at all. Not to mention the awful hacking mini-game, the bullet-sponge enemies, the complete lack of any sort of meaningful character/weapon upgrades, the stupidly useless plasmids and the stupidly OP plasmids, or the fact that the last 1/3rd of the game is an absolute slog that culminates in one of the worst boss-fights ever seen in a shooter.

I'm not saying TOW is good, it's mediocre at best, and it was a big disappointment coming from Tim and Leonard, but it's definitely better than Bioshock.

From the studio made that cinematic trailer:

video game trailers are fucking garbage
at least movie trailers use -- you know -- actual footage from the fucking movie. Video game trailers pay a VFX company to make their own interpretation of what might be happening in the game using their own models/environments.

Idk if it's old news but this Haley Stone joined Obsidian as associate narrative designer on The Outer Worlds 2. She wrote a novel called Make Me no Grave: A Weird West.

I think having people who only write write for games is a mistake. It flattens the experience of the author, and gives you overwritten drivel.

Look at the credits for Fallout, CTL-F "writer". No hits.

Brilliant example of libtard diversity they always brag about: employing nothing but AWFLs.
Reminds me of that hufpo image.

Seeing Sawyer in her replies, his break from twitter didn't last long. What an addict.

Her book covers look like the kind of thing Feargus would like. I didn't think much of the short story of hers I read.
