Yeah, that old story twist, that , at least, on this case, the villain was right. All this time Bobby Kotick was just trying to warn us.
If only we listened.
...fucking the consumer and saying that he should be happy about it is a Double Fine specialty too. .
I can agree that DF games after Psychonauts were quite shallow regarding gameplay, but as you said, they had a quirky and imaginative setting, and even the shallow gameplay was fun for those who like these kind of games. Not on the Codex of course, because OMG you are not hardcore Codexer if you like anything but the most complex games in gaming history. I disagree that there was a decline in quality. They were quality games, just not complex games. In all seriousness though, I honestly never thought that DF's games were that great, and had very low expectations for Broken Age. From their inception DF games have always had very quirky and imaginative settings coupled with shallow and derivative mechanics. Oddly enough, they peaked from the start with Pnauts being their best title by far and declined in quality with each release.
Schafer has also shown himself to be more of a joke with each passing year too, especially as of late with all of his tittermongering. First it was white knighting Quinn and now he's defending DF's shitty money management.
Oh well.

too much fat.Apparently, Tim Schafer's skills is inversely proportional to how much budget.
After all, all that quality grass is not going to pay itself.
How can you look at Tim Schafer and not think "heroin"?
Contrary to popular belief, Tim is not the CFO (chief financial officer) of the company, there are finance guys at DF who advise him about the comnpanies financial state. We could see them in the documentaries. They are as much, if not more at fault as Tim.Tim Schaefer seems like a person who should never have become the top dog in a company or start one. There should always be someone between him and the cash, slapping him back in reality if he gets too enthralled by his own vision or starts cultivating a hipster lumberjack brigade inside company property.

Well despite my best efforts, I couldn't find a specific CEO position, neither on google, linkedin or in the documentaries (I'm not on Roguey's level when it comes to stalking, sorry). But I ran into Justin Bailey's name all the time, who is the COO (chief operating officer), and it was him who was discussing finances all the time. So maybe he acts like CEO:Please do, since google searches seem to give no result and I'm curious, but don't have the time to check videos because my colleagues are funny people that like to set up sudden emergencies.
Anthony Davis Tim did a lot of great things, but the present and future for Double Fine fills me with pessimism, I'm astounded at how they've managed to trash their own brand and goodwill of their fans (I used to be one).
