if gilbert bates is bill gates and cedric appleby is steve jobs, why do the bates steam engines run well, while the appleby models are prone to breakdown and failure?

Yeah, it always seemed very anti apple.

As for anyone just now getting it how could you not see it instantly let alone play through the whole game?

The only one that sprang to my mind that you missed right away was Magus leading lost dwarf clan's revival if you did the long, complicated quest starting with the key schematic given to you by a dwarf in the Wheel Clan tunnels.

Yeah, I did that without having Loghaire in my party... I read somwehre that you have to have Loghaire and Magnus in your party, then Loghaire will make Magnus the king of the Iron Clan.

Yes, the Iron clan, and the Bedokaan, and the shrouded hills mine

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
New speculation: Tarant = France.
They are the only country with a democracy, are arrogant as hell and when you get the war endings they always lose [either Caladon kicks their ass with planes, or Maximilian declares war on them and kicks their ass with the Dragon Knights, or there is no clear winner if Caladon does not get the planes.] This sounds very much like France to me.

If you'd like an organized list of endings you should go to the walkthrough at Terra-Arcanum.com and click on 'main quest' and then 'the end' and it will give you all the possible endings for each town.

Only they dominate the known world with finance and technology, that is more reminiscent of the UK than anything else.

Even the streets of Tarant give the impression of rich/poor divide so evident in English society.

Because of my mad negotiation skills Caladon was in such a pickle that it became a backwater town, where as Tarant, due to the profitable contracts, became more and more powerful.

Nah, Tarant is clearly England. Unified Kingdom, UK?

Wow, these God endings are really inspirational. In what game can you become a god, eh? Troika should have hyped that feature.

Did anybody get the sarcasm in the phrase "if there is war, they lose" and a connection to France?

France losing all their wars is a cliché, not a funners. As well as incorrect.

I don't know if it was trolling, but I heard you can convince loghaire to attack Tarant. Is that true?
