I, too, believe Bard's Tale IV will be fantastic. I have no doubt that they are going to make a super blobber dungeon-crawler that both looks amazing and has fascinating gameplay systems.

Again, I just wish it was longer. Why can't we get some super interesting, groundbreaking dungeon crawler and have it be over 100 hours of gameplay?

I can dream, I guess. :)

Because they have limited budget.

Well, Elminage Gothic pulled off an epicly huge, massive dungeon-crawler, and I'm sure their budget was limited as well.

Ah well. I'll still adore Bard's Tale IV and play it. I just hope that we get some larger games going forward from some of these RPG Renaissance developers.

For the record, 100-hour games are not the dream of every gamer out there, even those who wear :obviously:

Well, I never said that they are. They are my dream, and I am a dreamer of dreams. :)

I think their more focused approach is reasonable with their resources, though maybe Fargo takes it as an excuse to skimp on content and buy another Ferrari instead.

Bard's Tale IV will be the best role-playing game from inXile yet.
Not that I disagree, but ... what makes you say so?
Ah, you know me. I contend that dungeon crawlers are the purest expression of the role-playing genre.
Gotcha, so you're not saying they'll do a better job, or make a more series-faithful sequel ... just that you'll like this one most because of its type. I can dig it.

Somehow i also have this suspicion.

The Fichti have no real relationship with the Dwarfs
Thank goodness for that. If interaction with the drow has taught me anything, it's that a matriarchal society should always be viewed with suspicion.

The only two nearly real matriarchal societies that exist, belong also to the poorest societies. It seems that the male oriented traits of to push a thing forward, analyse and conquer is also responsible for the development and riches that a society creates or steals from other societies.

Supposedly bonobo monkey dogs have a matriarchal society. That's all I need to know about that

Calm down you fucking retard.

Spartan women were basically in control of the political decisions, could own land normally and due to the warmongering nature of the Spartans in general rarely did men actually decide about anything.
So as Aristotle mentioned it was basically a matriarchal society.

Aristotle writes, “among Spartans in the days of their
greatness; many things were managed by their women.”22 Aristotle felt that the
influence of Spartan women was mischievous.
Women in Sparta could own property; they could dispose of it how they
willed, they could inherit equal shares from their father’s estates. Aristotle states
that women owned two-fifths of the land in the Spartan region; he thought that
this “avarice naturally suggests a criticism on the inequality of property.”23 He
also felt that their laws dealing with property and women were the ruin of
Sparta.24

Anyway, from the few things known about the Spartan women, we know that they very often directly influenced decisions and the course of Sparta.
And that is mainly because men were simply away most of the time and very influenced from their spouses when back home
