A quite lot of those old deprecated software get either unofficial patches (Arcanum,Gothic3,JA) or even ports in other engines(Daggerfall, UUnderworld Unity)...

I use Xenforo 2.0 on the forum that I own and administrate.

Ah yes, thanks for yor invite btw.

There is a dude out there that released his shovelware during the down-time and missed the Saint Proverbius coverage. The poor bastard blew his only chance of being noticed.

The most spectacular thing about the upgrade is the immense amount of butthurt it generated. I'm deeply impressed by how strong even minor things can trigger the Codex.

The launch of the new forum design was the greatest autism diagnosis test ever created.

DU should patent the idea.

I've brought this up already in the feedback thread, and I'm bringing it up again:

I think Twiglard deserves some monetary recognition for all his stellar and *completely unpaid* work he's been doing for us. I for one would be happy to send a few bucks to him.

Anyone want to organise such a thing? I'm not sure about the technicalities (and I avoid crypto-currencies like the plague, so at least for me that's not an option).

Twiglard?

Twiglard?

He can always open an OnlyFans account. He wouldn't even have to post a picture of his spread butthole or anything. But, Twiglard is a self-proclaimed socialist, ergo taking payment or donations for his work is below him.

:troll:

But in all seriousness, I'm paranoid as all fuck and refuse to transfer anything through PayPal, ever and for any reason. Any other option, crypto included, is fine.

I'm not, and I don't give a fuck either, so for me PayPal is 100% fine, or anything else that doesn't cost me extra money.

Also using old deprecated software is bad.

This is a website dedicated to the enjoyment of old, deprecated software.
A quite lot of those old deprecated software get either unofficial patches (Arcanum,Gothic3,JA) or even ports in other engines(Daggerfall, UUnderworld Unity)...

And unless these ports and patches keep everything exactly the way it used to be, they are universally roasted.

"This is a website dedicated to the enjoyment of old, deprecated *NON-NETWORKED* software."

Try doing that with any software that connects to the internet, and you'll get fucked very easily... Okay, *maybe* not as much with old games, but you definitely don't want to run any deprecated web applications, such as forum software, as that's a huge potential security risk and thus attack surface for hackers. Especially the popular ones.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
I wasn't being entirely earnest. I was mostly being an obnoxious asshole, and DU knows that.

Evidence: I'm running fully-updated Xenforo 2.0 myself.

I want updated netcode and security, just without all the bloatware and garbage features, but they won't let me have it. I don't like that.

It's kind of like how we want updated technology and (yes, yes, I know) advanced graphics and animations in games, but with actual good gameplay, challenge, and competent writing, but they won't let us have that, either. And I REALLY don't like that.

Am thankful for being thanked for no reason. Quite considerate of the uber janitor.
Never saw the fuss personally;
Custom ublock filters, privacybadger (perhaps a zooming addon for some as well) and a custom-themed browser* make all forum platforms -oldest to most recent- more than decent.
If anything, our switch to this version has made it easier for me to have a layout much closer to what i have most everywhere else. Consistency helps; in the eye becoming accustomed, in reducing annoyances, etc etc.

* which for all your pretense and air of superiority, a shocking number of you do not have according to the very screenshots you occasionally post. Always enjoyed seeing "elitists" and self-referred to as "inclined" individuals going with stock, mainstream software; something deeply amusing in that.

Maybe some folks need to find a thing or two to focus more on; you know, like non-PC related.
Just saying of course, heaven forbid this applies to anyone at all here.

You can turn pretty much all the newer XF features off right from the ACP. What's bothering you so much that you can't turn off with a flip of a switch or commenting out a bit of code?
