Tech support/avatar not shown correctly

Hi. I’ve picked this nice avatar of a cute lime crabie to represent myself on these forums, yet to my sheer disappointment it’s not shown properly, being stretched horizontally and cropped on the right side. Would appreciate your help!

That’s weird, it looks absolutely square in the gallery view.

Yeah the gallery interface stretches images. Not great.

The file itself has the wrong aspect ratio. Upload it to the avatar gallery (i.e. the avatar directory tree inside public_html) using the correct dimensions, then have the user re-select it from the avatar gallery.

Thanks bud! Weirdly enough it looks absolutely fine in the gallery view, but for some reason becomes stretched out upon downloading it.

Anyway, I can do some tweaking with the image. What is the target resolution required?

If you want it to display smaller then add fully transparent pixels.
