The year is 1949. The Great War never ended. Ancient crypts with powerful artifacts and magix have been unveiled in Europe and could turn the tide. The players assign themselves into two teams, controlling commando squads of the Central Powers or the Entente and complete scenarios.

Has anyone played this? I remember stumbling on it and the general setting seemed pretty interesting. Was thinking of picking it up, but I've read some mixed opinions about the gameplay. Can anyone share some impressions? I figured the 'dex is always the best place to look for opinions on such matters.

Looking at the boards, doesn't movement feel really restrictive. The colour-coded line-of-sight blobs are a pretty nice touch, but I can't help but feel movement looks like you're following a railroad track.
Also, how big a factor is randomness and luck in the gameplay? Are there any balancing factors to unlucky series of dice rolls?
