Kinda skimming some of this and it's really amazing to me. How dare you have a defined progression expectation that allows you to balance encounters!? I'd rather grind forever and a day in order to beat a required map because that's totally not just bloat and padding.

I really think that the only way to deal with this shit is to be like: this is my game, like it or lump it.

This is what happens when an entire generation of kids grow up who've never been backhanded to the ground by their dad for acting like a bunch of spoiled, entitled bitches.

True story, when I was like 8 years old, dad said he was gonna bring home tacos for dinner the day before, and he showed up with KFC instead, and I was pretty disappointed, and pretended I wasn't hungry and walked back to my room. He comes to my door and says food is ready, come to the table, and I whined about wanting tacos, and he literally turns around from a facing away position and full rotation backhands me to the ground. I got bitch slapped, and didn't understand why at the time until he told me why. He brought home food once a week from take out, and I acted like a spoiled little bitch instead of thanking him for going out of his way to bring us take out, even though it wasn't the specific thing I wanted.

I ve played to chapter 7 out of 30? and it is pretty great so far. The only gripe would be lack of UI QoL features.

Mind you, I've never played the original Ogre Battle or Fire Emblem, to which this game bears a certain similarity, so take my words with a pinch of salt.

If you're not going to allow grinding then why even do experience points? Just hand out +1 level each chapter. There, perfectly balanced game.
