Not GW, it's THQ.NiM82 said:What utter cunts GW are. I was actually looking forward to the improved version they had in the works
Teardown said:The last couple of days have been rather hectic. From our pleed for help we got in touch with old time Games Workshop veteran Jervis Johnson. Although he could not help us personally he was kind enough to speed up the legal process and so we finally got a response from Games Workshop this afternoon.
We are awaiting their second respons and approval to publish the entire conversation but in short all Warhammer 40.000 licences to make a computergame belong to THQ (who are the ones resposible of the Dawn of War series). Even though they have no plans of releasing a Space Hulk game it is still a part of the 40.000 world and as such Games Workshop feel obligated to defend their clients in this matter.
We accept this response and even though it saddens us we do not want to upset them further by releasing more updates to the game. It is their product and property and even though we tought everything was okay by them, they still had the option to ask us to quit.
Of course we will contact THQ and ask for their permission to continue this development but as it seem highly unlikely it surely seem that this is the end of our great game. It has been a blast doing this and we will remember this our entire lives. You have all helped us doing this and if we were not forced to stop, this could have grown into something truly great. Do not hold a grudge towards Game Workshop. Without them you would never have played this game in the first place.
We thank you all for all your support and will try to post the entire conversation shortly. Of course we will inform you of any outcome regarding THQ but it seem like this is the end.

You are. Or, well.. You're not. But THQ evidently didn't see things that way. Who cares though? THQ decided to let TEARDOWN live!!Bluebottle said:Surely I'm not the only one here who sees some potential common ground on which this legal dispute could be settled, to the benfit of both parties?
If you haven't already snagged a copy of Space Hulk, you can now. The download section is up already. Personally, I'd wait for v1.1. The current version has some stability issues & a few cosmetic bugs.TEARDOWN said:THQ AGREED!!

We have amazing news! All of our efforts have finally paid of. With some help from our forum we got in contact with a producer behind Dawn of War at THQ. He really loved this game, in fact so much that he helped us talk to their laywers and for the last week we have worked around the clock to get all the vital approvals to once again pursuade Games Workshop to let us relelase our game. We have kept this quit to not jinx anything but now its official! SPACE HULK IS BACK!!! We are working on the final touches of the 1.1 but expect to release a brand new version of the game as early as tomorrow. Tell all your friends! We're back!!!

Yes - as many of you guessed - this news was too good to be true. An almost cruel joke which we decided to end earlier than intended due to some reactions on the forum. But we want to give you something so here are three three fresh screenshots from the V1.1 build showing the new Deathwing Veterans chapter taking on the three missions from the campaign Fangs of Fenris.
We are sorry if anyone got offended but we imagine it to be because you love our game so much and have awaited any good news for a really long time. Next time you read anything about THQ giving us green light to continue it will be for real. Let's all hope it won't take forever...
List of updates

Once more we adress the stubborn (in a positive way) masses to explain where we are going and hoping you haven't lost faith in us. This time we would like to adress three different things.
1. Our own betatester the fifth horseman have compiled a rather impressive list of all the changes beeing made between the official 1.0 version and our current 1.1 project. As you will find we are not lying lazy on our backs and our promises that it will be an entire new and better game is not just hollow words.
SpaceHulk 1.1 List
2. We continue to harrass THQ and Games Workshop about the future of this project. Yes they do blame eachother quite a bit at the moment but if a person have worked hard on a game for more than two years failure is not an option. We are also discussing about how to proceed with our contacts and the best way to do so. Here our friends at the forum really have helped us quite a lot with ideas and support.
3. We are getting really really close of the astronomical number of 100.000 visitors! It's like a week away and we are very thrilled about this. We thought the total would end at maybe 100 visitors way back when we released the game.
