Fuck me i did it. Woohoo ! Thanks to recent mining craze i am wealthy enough to buy VR hardware and have 2 gpus to run dem games at full power. According to DHL site it should come today. I found it at affordable price compared to those VIVE/Oculus scams that cost like they are made out of gold.
Things I will be trying today sometimes for the first time:
- 120hz display. I never played anything more than 60hz. Being poor potato hurts
- Feel the proper sense of scale due to FOV and 3D effect.
- Hopefully feel that "presence" people are talking about though it might not work due to lack of positional tracking (though this might change as PSVR software for PC is still developing)
- VR in general. Can't wait to try Assetto Corsa or generally racing games as VR gives you headtracking, 3D and what is most important 100+ degree FOV which gives you sense of speed like nothing else. I have G25 wheel + gas and shifter so i will try the full course which is something i am most excited about since i love racing sims.
- VR porn. FOR SCIENCE !
- Probably will replay Fallout New Vegas with it.
- Shooters with decoupled viev from gun pointing. I already played few games like that (few HL2 mods) and i loved it but it always had problem with using camera with it since i had to point a gun to side of screen. With headtracking that problem doesn't exist.
- Cinema mode. Apparently breakout box for PSVR can fake properly sitting in real huuuge (imax size) cinema due to lenses, warp and headtracking. So you can play even 2D games on huuuge screen.
- Dark Souls 1/2/3 in first person. Yes :
- Sightseeing Witcher 3 world.
Also i just realized that i can take my PC everywhere now since Screen is so small (and yet so big). So i can take PC, G25 and PSVR to my friend and play racing sim games together without issue.
