Things going wrong with food is how it's supposed to be, I think - Ernalda is dead/asleep, after all. I spent a good chunk of my playthrough regularly butchering cattle to feed my tribe for an half season to slow down the process.I feel like I'm doing something wrong with food.
Can I do ventures during farming seasons? Or it will take away people away from the fields?
I played the game back in august, before Armored Core 6 came out. Overall I liked it : it's more depressing than SA, but at least you don't feel contrived to follow a plot to "win" the game as everybody will die at the end (I would love to know if there is any "good" end to this game, so far I haven't seen any).
Like KODP and SA1 before it, the real value of the game lies in all the Gloranthan lore and tidbits you can find in pretty much every game events : seeing the Spike explodes, being visited by time-travelling GLs who want to experience the great darkness first hand, being bullied by the Devil, fighting off the Teller of Lies (who may, or may not, be related to another famous Gloranthan entity), seeing the Dara Happan dome being breached, prevent the murder of Rashonara by the unholy trio for at least another day... even the whole ending sequence is fanbait at its best, as the game designer give you his take on who/what the Flesh Man from the Lightbringer myth really is.
(And somebody pointed to me that from a very remote standpoint, the story of your tribe in SA2 is what will become the myth of Emal Guards the Stead centuries or millenia later)
It's a great "storybook"/tribe simulator, but it really makes you wonder how a game that target a very narrow audience (Glorantha fans, and more precisely, Glorantha fans who liked that weird anthropologicalo-magical era of HeroWars/HeroQuest 1st ed) can be economically viable.
