Maxis has created a video showing players how they'll be able to play Sim City offline. It's a very complicated process to switch to offline mode and clearly people need explaining as to how local saves work.

This game just keeps delivering the lulz.

Haha holy shit, did she just say single player mode adds a whole new dimension to SimCity? Giving you more freedom to play the way you want? With a straight face? This is too rich. Even for these fuckers.

I hope you have fun playing offline! You shut-in introverted pathetic antisocial basement dwelling cunts.

I duno who gives a fuck about this game at this point.
People have already moved on or went back to other SimCity clones / earlier spawns in the series.

Still think the series peaked with SimCity 2000. Making a Bladerunner city consisting almost solely of sprawl and arcologies was cool.

Astroturf = fake grass.
Astroturfing = fake grassroots movement. Trying to give the impression that there's widespread grassroots support for a cause when there really isn't.

For instance, if you want a politician to do something unpopular and write 6000 letters to them under different names demanding that they do it, that's astroturfing. It's more commonly used for large Companies or political parties setting up paid campaigners to pretend to be all grassrooty and stuff, which in this day and age involves hiring a lot of people to post stuff on the internet.

Yea, Google definition says: Astroturfing is the practice of masking the sponsors of a message to give the appearance of it coming from a disinterested, grassroots participant. ...

and apparently its illegal or something.

Cool. Might be worth a purchase now when its like 80% off or something. Took em a while, like its a fucking feature for having an offline single player mode. No other fucking games do that, right

It's one thing to admit you made a mistake and apolgize to players for trying to force the cloud on everyone, but to spin it as a new feature galls me.
