According to the <A href="http://www.shrapnelgames.com/">Shrapnel Games website</a>, the space trading, tactical starship combat CRPG, <a href="http://www.shrapnelgames.com/malfador/Starfury/1.htm">Space Empires: Starfury</a> will be available for order on <b>October 3rd, 2003</b>. In the mean time, of course, there's always <a href="http://www.shrapnelgames.com/malfador/Starfury/6.htm">the demo version</a> for you guys to try.

Oh yeah, I dig the new web design, <A href="http://www.shrapnelgames.com/">Shrapnel</a>!

I'm playing around with a post-gold beta patch at the moment.

It's good, not great.

Has anyone tried the demo yet? I downloaded it but haven't had a chance to unpack so far.

I've played it for about 5 minutes. I'm not a big fan of the control scheme, though.
Is there anyway to select a target from any sort of map or set waypoints? Because otherwise I'm stuck just pointing myself in somewhat the right direction and waiting til i get into visual range.

I noticed that too. Really makes navigating quite annoying.

{Combat reminds of a more simplistic SFC.}
