We're rich! Sorta...

Both the Sonic Screws and the Stem Bolt :argh: are close by.

The sonic screws are only 47 KM to the east.
The Stem Bolt :argh: is 89 KM south.

Which one are we going after?

Screws! Because I like the name.

And I think what you call Stem Bolts is not where the actual item is, but denotes the place where we could steal the location of their transport, correct?

At this distance we might as well drive off-road to get to our destination.

What are our chances? I am not very good at estimating out loadout.

If we can take them on, screw them. We have enough to pay for repairs. If not, radio them.

Good question. Let's find out!

Well, we survived. That counts for something, right?

Oh great, now we have two convoys to ambush...

At this point I think our next destination should be
the nearest camp.

I move the convoy right on top of the camp. But before I get a chance to actually enter, we run into our first random encounter.

Death to privateers. No exception. These vermin need to be purged with nuclear fire.

Besides, the camp is 6km away. We can use spare scrap.

Which sin are you guys more interested in? Greed or Wrath?
Lust. Which of the two would fuck them over worse?

Eh, I am not an unreasonable man. Give me your money and your women, and I will let you live - if only to collect toll from you again next time we meet. So pick up their cargo and let them go collect even more for you.

They're probably booby trapped. Pick them up anyway.

Well, the camp is right here. 60 parts later, all of our vehicles have a fresh coat of paint, leaving us with 293 parts to spend.

For sale we have a super heavy laser for 160 - do I really have to show the stats for it?

There is also a mine layer for 40 parts. Both the laser and the mines fit onto Road Hog rather then any of the escort cars.

Alternatively, we could buy a new car! Odd Niner is a medium-sized vehicle with two weapon slots and comes with an autocannon. 160 parts gets us both.

The auto-cannon alone is worth a good 100+ parts assuming you can even find one - this is definately a good buy.

Oh, and we have a chainsaw that we acquired somewhere - sells for 20.

Oh wow, no wonder why Quad Bucket was doing so much damage per shot.

Okay, that's the last time I was trying to be nice to people. :M

Please do. Is it the same as a heavy laser we saw on the last playthrough?

Odd Niner is a buy. Also, do we have enough to buy both it and the laser? We almost have 320 scrap. Maybe there is something else we can sell?

Why does it say that Odd Niner costs 120, yet you say it costs 160?

Is it possible to unlock more slots for your vehicles? How?

Awww.. But I really want to buy both a new car and the super heavy laser. Can we sell off somethin from the Road Hog to be able to afford both? With the saw sold, we'd be just 7 parts shy, right?

Do what you can to get both Odd Niner and the dakka. Road Hog needs a gun. It looks like it soaks damage like a champ but didn't seem to do much shooting in the videos.

Also, Convoy seems an interesting purchase, now I'm waiting to see if it goes on sale..
Indeed. Though it looks kind of slow, and the combat appears less interesting than in FTL. However, you don't judge FTL by its first two sectors either. I'd better see if it picks up later.

Haven't seen any real challenges so far. I wonder if it is due to the author's skill or just our luck.

No. It is colored white, so it fits on Road Hog rather then any of the small vehicles.

Odd Niner is a buy. Also, do we have enough to buy both it and the laser? We almost have 320 scrap. Maybe there is something else we can sell?

Well, there's the light rocket artillery that Goon Squad is carrying, but it's such a good fit for that vehicle.
I don't think you want to get rid of the 100mm Cannon or Road Hog's MKIV Shield.
Or we can just do a bit of grinding - but be advised of the soft time limit.

Why does it say that Odd Niner costs 120, yet you say it costs 160?
Derp

Is it possible to unlock more slots for your vehicles?
Nope.

If you are unfamiliar with the nuances of combat you can die so so easy.

Can you provide examples of the nuances that are not apparent at the first glance?

So we can buy Odd Niner for 120 and Supah-Las0r for 160? Let's do it.

Edit: also - would it be wise to sell off our light vehicle in hopes of finding a better one in the wasteland? I think if you find one and you are full, you can swap it with the existing ones, but you don't get any scrap for it. Much like it was in FTL - and I always kept space in my hangar for free stuff there.

In the last combat video you noticed how I got annoyed at the first shield vehicle enough to ram it to death. I figured the damage from ramming would be less then if it were still alive to shoot at us, and I couldn't get past that high-tier shield.
The very last enemy I forced into an obstacle by surrounding it with vehicles on either side and thus preventing its movement.
The EMP blaster that was on Hard Dog is also a great way to make enemies collide with obstacles.
Manage aggro! Enemies will return fire based off of what is doing the most damage to them. If not fired on they instead prioritize the MCV.
While you can't avoid damage from normal enemies entirely, bosses all have a distinct attack pattern that can be avoided.
You haven't seen the ! obstacles yet. Colliding with a mine or a car wreck will do light damage to your vehicle. If you are seeing lots of skulls, it might be best to just drive over the ! obstacles as necessary instead of trying to dodge both and making a fatal error.
The center area in front/back of the MCV is -always- safe from terrain.
Focusing fire on one enemy works better then it should. Simple yet effective.
The light rocket artillery Goon Squad has can fire over obstacles, but will fail to hit if the target moves to a different square before the rockets actually reach the location. This is how it was avoiding damage.

You can't sell vehicles! If you find a fifth you will be given a choice on which vehicle to abandon.

...So we are selling Goon Squad's rocket launcher and purchasing the laser and the vehicle, right?
