I said that it was probably LucasArts that decided to use d20 for KotOR, SP said that it was BioWare. Neither of us included any corroborating statements in order to back up our claims. RP found a quote where it was proven that it was Bio's decision - a point to which I conceded a long time ago. SP then chews me out for not believing him when he didn't even say where he was getting his information, let alone provide a link. For all I knew, he'd pulled that opinion out of thin air, just like I did. Now, what else am I supposed to conclude from this if not that it is my responsibility to follow up on every statement of 'fact' that SP posts before I question him about it otherwise suffer the consequences? This is counter to every standard of SP's self-declared profession as a journalist.

As for my misunderstanding something, Eeviac:

If we created our own rule system, we wouldn't be hampered by any difficult to implement pen and paper rules; however, we would have to invest a significant amount of time researching a new system that wouldn't be familiar to our fan base.

That is, the decision was made because:

1. Familiarity of the d20 system (for their fan base)
2. Development time (for their programmers and designers)

What did I misunderstand?

Anyway, it's clear that SP's insulting and abrassive attitude and unwillingness to budge in his stance despite the evidence has somehow won public opinion in this discussion, so I'll just let it drop. Thanks for playing, everyone!
