As for video LPing a console the only method I know (knew) is getting one of those capture cards and plugging it to your TV.

We've been over this here before. Nintendo games have declined less than pretty much anything once you get past the shovelware, of which there's a fair amount, but which platform hasn't had more bad than good?

New Super Mario Bros, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, World of Goo, No More Heroes, Wario Land Shake, MadWorld, A Boy and his Bong, fucking Monster Hunter along with all the retro/retro-styled Rebirth games on the Virtual Console or whatever > whatever shit the other consoles play home to. Consoles have always been about stupid, simple fun, and Nintendo continues to get that down to a T.

I think I understand the point you're trying to make but I don't see Nintendo doing anything different than the competition, ie milking established franchises. Would you have a problem if Black Isle had continued to exist and kept creating Fallout sequels of a consistent level of quality, upgrading the mechanics and expanding the content every time? Milking a franchise it might be, but if that means continuing to produce games of the style and quality that the series is known for - as is certainly the case with, say, Mario Galaxy - I'm not sure how it's a bad thing, especially when they continue to try new things both within each series and in side games.

Fact is, by and large, they make games that focus on gameplay above all else, they do it well and they rarely if ever succumb to idiotic next-gen trends. Whether you like the kind of game they make or not is irrelevant, because that's taking this from "they don't make real games/they're the same as the competition" to CONSOLE GAMES ARE DUMB ANYONE WHO THINKS THEY ARE NOT AS BAD AS HITLER IS A SUBVERSIVE WEEABOO WHO HATES FALLOUT AND MICHAELANGELO thread #2735.

Anyway, I'd second the capture card recommendation. They're not too expensive, and my friend's used them in the past with considerable success.
