Why on earth does Neverwinter Nights 1 get good ratings? It is massive decline compared to the Infinity Engine games. Single character instead of party, no good quests, clunky controls, ugly early 3D, unmemorable soundtrack and ugly representation overall. The only good thing that I remember was the ability to smash doors and containers and the radial menu, which is a nice gimmick, but certainly doesn't change the fact that the game is forgettable shovelware.

The NWN toolset and fan-made modules.

NWN's core gameplay is so horrendously terrible, not even the best modules can save it.

Fitting that DA2 would help make people gay, given that it sucks so much dick.

The coastal environments were nice the first time around I guess, I'll give it that.

Don't really care about the rest. NWN could have been just beneath BG2 but the Party A.I. particularly in the base game is abysmal. It would score higher if we were only talking about the toolset, rather than the campaigns, but we're rating the games as shipped.

Nope. IF very boring. One of the good things about BG2 is that it starts in mid level. And you quickly start to deal with djinnies, outer planes and other interesting stuff. You also get a stronghold. The best chapter of BG2 is chapter 2 imo.

In most ways, Codex is getting dumber over time. I blame King Crispy. But in one way, there is indisputable incline: more and more retards here are coming to realize BG1 > BG2.

As far as Bioware games:

BG1 = Excellent
BG2 = Very good
KotOR = Meh
Dragon Ass games, Ass Effect games, NWN (OC) = trash

I enjoyed BG 1 & 2 as well as KOTOR a lot.

I got some enjoyment out of DAO, Jade Empire and the first couple of Mass Effects.

Struggled through NWN and DA2. Gave up on ME3 and DAI.

Haven’t played any BioWare title since DAI.

I know you have a long standing (mostly irrational) bias against NWN, but no

Swordflight and several other modules are masterpieces of game design

I guarantee this with my 25 years of gaming experience

These modules are literally full-fledged RPGs and better than 99% of commercially released games

NWN as a modding platform is actually amazing
