Randomly, Procedurally, or Manually Generated D&D Campaign Generation in an actual game?

I'm waiting for my new gaming/art/gamedev laptop to get out of the repair shop so I'm keeping busy brainstorming gamedev projects I want to make. One thing I'm not familiar with is CRPGs. Bear in mind that I have no experience coding servers, and to be honest I am at best a junior year university dropout in terms of my skills. I want money and I want out of the USA, so teaching myself how to make furry porn as training to make game art seems a viable career, and coding games with Godot engine is probably a viable way to self-teach myself into a career.

I know for a fact that I'm a better coder than most of the professors who taught me.

After thinking about how best to create content with minimal effort on my end, I decided that I should add to any games I dev in the future randomizer, procedural generation, and manual generation modes. While I'm more of a JRPG, Skyrim-ripoff, and FFT-ripoff person, there is clearly a lot of demand for CRPGs. How then should I go about incorporating these things into a given game engine?

Obviously online and local multiplayer is a must-have, for both coop and PvP. I am too old to care about people calling each other niggers in chat so I would release the server software open source, or release a client/server API.

I assume everyone here is an arthritic old man, so you would want a turn based game where NPCs won't wander off until you've had a chance to talk to them. That is, something with both in and out of battle turn based modes, not unlike a roguelike. Is this correct?

Furthermore, how can I simplify the job class system found in something like Pathfinder?

I read somewhere that the various ways you can kill things with weapons should instead of being separate classes should be more like schools for the Wizard, bloodlines for the Sorcerer, or domains for the Cleric. Rolling up excess redundancy would simplify things a lot.

I also like the idea of the Qigong Monk archetype, which lets you pick and choose class features, and the idea of archetypes in general. Something which combines them all into a class perk system that automatically resolves (and tells you beforehand about) dependencies would do the trick there.

For warriors this means a point buy system where you choose your …
  • BAB type and saves (with an additional "okay" save of 9).
  • Weapon proficiencies, including options to favor a fighter weapon group or a handful of specific weapons.
  • Maybe major class feature as a group: fighter, rogue, ranger, barbarian, monk, gunslinger, or cavalier.
    • Or maybe you just get points to allot to all the various class features, which you can save up for more valuable ones like an animal companion if you can handle sucking for a while.
For casters something similar could be done with …
  • The broad category of spells: arcane, divine, or psychic.
  • spontaneous or prepared spellcasting.
  • The method by which you determine and store spells known.
  • Spells per day allotment.
  • What stat powers your spells per day.
  • What stat if any alters the effects of your spells, should I decide to improve spell scaling by making spell dice scale based on another stat or caster levels in that class to make spell lists smaller.
Mixed warriors/casters can either mix things up or choose specific warmage options like magus.

Utility classes in this case would not exist, being instead something you spend leftover points on. Though I could make it point buy for class skills and skill points per level.

tl;dr

What if I made an isometric turn/tile based CRPG, applied the advanced autism required to optimize characters to also let players optimize job classes, and then threw in a(n optionally pseudo-) randomizer and campaign maker?

What about using the new AI stuff?
I recently played with this DnD GPT based on chatgpt4 and it was interesting.
It did a pretty good job, the only issue I had with it is that there was no hard grip so to speak.
It preferred to let the story/narrative flow rather than remind me that "this action gave you x exp" so I had to keep poking it if that or this gave me exp, otherwise I'd probably never level up.

Probably if you created some sort of interface that mainly used GPT for the actual content generation, but didn't boggle it down with annoying stuff like "exp" or other numbers, instead track that seperatly on the interface, then that would work out well I think.
Possibly then maybe later expand it by forcing the story to go through a specific narrative based off a book or dnd module. I do like the insane freedom it gives you, but that freedom does tend to become more loose and unguided, sort of like playing too many random single shot adventures in dungeons and dragons online.

I still have the conversation history, so here's how it went for me:

are you familiar with "wrath of the righteous" from pathfinder? Can that be integrated into dnd 5th edition?
GPT
Ah, "Wrath of the Righteous"! A grand and storied campaign from the world of Pathfinder, rich with epic quests and mythic heroes, set against a backdrop of demonic invasion. It is indeed a tale that captures the imagination and entices many an adventurer.

Integrating "Wrath of the Righteous" into Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition is possible, but it requires some adaptation. The rules, mechanics, and classes in Pathfinder and D&D 5e differ, so converting requires adjustments. Here are some key points to consider:

Rules and Mechanics: Pathfinder and D&D 5e have different rulesets. You'll need to adapt skill checks, saving throws, and combat mechanics to fit 5e's system.

Classes and Abilities: Pathfinder's classes have unique features not found in D&D 5e. You might need to find equivalent classes in 5e or create homebrew versions of Pathfinder classes.

Monsters and Encounters: Many creatures in Pathfinder don't have direct counterparts in 5e. You'll have to find similar creatures in the 5e Monster Manual or adjust the stats of Pathfinder monsters to fit the 5e system.

Magic Items and Equipment: Items in Pathfinder often have different properties and power levels. Adjust these to align with 5e's balance.

Mythic Adventures: "Wrath of the Righteous" includes a "Mythic" progression system, which isn't present in 5e. You could create a homebrew system or adapt the milestones in the campaign to give equivalent boons or powers in 5e.

Story and Setting: The narrative and world-building elements of "Wrath of the Righteous" can be easily integrated into 5e. You might need to tweak some lore elements to fit the cosmology and pantheon of your D&D world.

Balancing: Finally, you’ll need to balance the encounters and challenges to match the power level and progression of a 5e party.

Now, before we embark on this grand adaptation, let's start your journey in the world of D&D 5th Edition. First, let's decide on your character and the tone of our adventure:

Theme: What setting or world type do you prefer? (e.g., High Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, etc.)
Tonality: What mood or style suits your taste? (e.g., Heroic, Whimsical, Grimdark, etc.)
Character: Shall I randomly create your character, or do you have a specific concept in mind?
Once we establish these, we can delve into the world of adventure and myth, where your story awaits!

User
are you able to use dnd 3rd edition? Or are you trained in only 5th edition?
GPT
As an adept Dungeon Master in the realms of Dungeons & Dragons, I am familiar with multiple editions of the game, including the 3rd edition. While my primary expertise lies in 5th edition, I can certainly adapt and use elements from 3rd edition as well. This flexibility allows us to create a rich and engaging experience, blending the best aspects of different editions.

Incorporating elements from D&D 3rd edition can add a unique flavor to our campaign. We can use its rules, classes, spells, and other features to enhance our adventure. However, it's important to note that some adjustments may be needed to ensure a balanced and cohesive experience, as the mechanics and balance of the game have evolved over the editions.

Now, let's proceed with setting up your character and adventure. Please provide your preferences for the following:

Theme: What setting or world type do you prefer? (e.g., High Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, etc.)
Tonality: What mood or style suits your taste? (e.g., Heroic, Whimsical, Grimdark, etc.)
Character Creation: Do you wish to create your character yourself, or shall I randomly generate one for you? If you're creating your own, feel free to describe your character concept.
Once these details are set, we will embark on a thrilling journey through the world of Dungeons & Dragons, where your story unfolds and legends are born!

User
we will play in the "wrath of the righteous" setting.
The tone will be grimdark.
My character is calle Balor and he's a farmboy who has recently left one of the farms to persue adventure and self improvement.
GPT
In the shadowed realm of the "Wrath of the Righteous," where light and darkness clash in a never-ending struggle, we set our stage for a grimdark tale. Here, the fabric of reality is thin, and the forces of the Abyss threaten to tear through at any moment. It is a world where heroes are forged in fire and darkness, and where the line between right and wrong is often blurred.

Balor, a farmboy with aspirations greater than the endless fields and starlit skies of his rural home, steps into this world. His hands, once calloused from the toil of farm work, now seek the grip of a sword and the thrill of adventure. Balor's journey is not just one of physical prowess, but also of internal struggle and growth.

Character Sheet:

Name: Balor
Class: To be determined (perhaps a Fighter or Ranger, given your background?)
Background: Farmer
Race: Human (or another race if you prefer)
Alignment: To be decided based on your actions and decisions
Starting Location:
The small village of Kenabres, on the border of the Worldwound, a scar upon the land where the fabric of reality is torn, and through which the demonic hordes of the Abyss constantly threaten to spill. The air is thick with the scent of fear and anticipation, as the people of Kenabres brace for the inevitable conflict.

NPCs:

Captain Irabeth Tirabade: A half-orc paladin, stern and battle-scarred, leading the defense of Kenabres.
Horgus Gwerm: A wealthy merchant, shrewd and cunning, with a network of contacts.
Anevia Tirabade: The resourceful wife of Irabeth, known for her skills as a scout.
Aravashnial: A blind elf scholar, seeking knowledge about the demonic incursions.
Potential Actions:

{Seek out Captain Irabeth Tirabade for guidance and possibly enlist in the town's defense.}
{Offer your services to Horgus Gwerm, hoping to gain some coin and connections.}
{Train with the local militia to hone your combat skills.}
{Explore the outskirts of Kenabres, gathering information about the Worldwound.}
{Visit Aravashnial to learn more about the demons and their weaknesses.}
Before we begin your adventure, let me know if there are any specific details you'd like to adjust or add about Balor. Your journey is about to begin, and the choices you make will shape the fate of not just yourself, but potentially the entire realm. The path ahead is fraught with danger, but also with the promise of glory and self-discovery. Are you ready to step into the world of "Wrath of the Righteous"?

User
let's roll my ability scores first
GPT
The winds of fate swirl around Balor, shaping his innate talents and abilities as he stands on the precipice of his grand adventure. The dice have been cast, revealing the following ability scores:

Strength: 15
Dexterity: 7
Constitution: 14
Intelligence: 11
Wisdom: 16
Charisma: 13
These scores will serve as the foundation of Balor's character, determining his physical prowess, mental acuity, and social abilities. With these in hand, you can now allocate them to the abilities that best fit Balor's character concept and the challenges he may face in the grimdark world of "Wrath of the Righteous."

How would you like to assign these scores to Balor's abilities? Remember, as a farmboy turned adventurer, his background may have influenced certain aspects of his development, be it his strength from laborious farm work, his wisdom from living close to nature, or perhaps something else entirely. Let me know how you wish to distribute these scores, and then we can proceed to choose his class and other character details.

User
I don't like the high strength, can you swap it with Dex? Also, swap charisma with my intelligence.
GPT
Certainly! We can adjust Balor's ability scores to better align with your vision for the character. Swapping the scores as you've requested, Balor's ability scores are now:

Strength: 7
Dexterity: 15
Constitution: 14
Intelligence: 13
Wisdom: 16
Charisma: 11
With these revised scores, Balor emerges as a character with quick reflexes and sharp senses, honed by his life on the farm and his keen observation of the natural world. His physical strength may not be his forte, but his agility, resilience, and keen intellect more than compensate.

Now, let's proceed to the next steps in character creation:

Class Selection: Given Balor's abilities, classes like Ranger, Rogue, or even a more dexterous Fighter could be suitable choices. What class do you envision for Balor?

Background Details: We can flesh out more about Balor's life on the farm and his reasons for leaving. What drives him? What are his aspirations?

Equipment and Skills: Based on his class and background, we'll select appropriate starting equipment and skills.

Alignment and Traits: We can also decide on Balor's alignment, which will reflect his moral and ethical compass, and his personality traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws.

Feel free to share your thoughts and preferences for these aspects, and we'll continue to build Balor's character for our grimdark adventure in the "Wrath of the Righteous" setting.

User
As I mentioned, he will be a monk.
He's just a farmboy, so no special equipment, just basic adventuring supplies like rope, food, and some camping stuff for sleeping.
Alignment has to be lawful neutral.
GPT
Excellent choice! Balor, the farmboy with a heart yearning for adventure, shall walk the disciplined path of a Monk. His days of labor on the farm have instilled in him a sense of order and discipline, shaping his lawful neutral alignment. As a Monk, Balor's strength lies in his agility, inner strength, and mastery of martial arts.

Class: Monk

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Equipment:

Basic traveling clothes suited for a monk, simple yet durable.
A sturdy backpack containing essential adventuring supplies:
A bedroll for restful nights under the stars.
Rations for sustenance during his travels.
A 50-foot coil of hempen rope, always useful in myriad situations.
A waterskin to quench his thirst on long journeys.
A small pouch containing 10 gold pieces, hard-earned savings from his work on the farm.
Monk Features:

Unarmored Defense: Balor's defense relies on his Dexterity and Wisdom, allowing him to be agile and aware even without armor.
Martial Arts: His training allows him to use his fists as deadly weapons, delivering powerful strikes.
Skills:
Given Balor's background and his class, we can choose skills that reflect his life experiences and his training as a monk. Skills like Acrobatics, Athletics, Insight, and Survival would be fitting.

Background Story:
Balor's life on the farm was one of routine and discipline, but the stories of monks and their extraordinary feats always fascinated him. His decision to leave home was driven by a desire to improve himself, to harness the discipline and strength he admired in the tales of old. The increasing threat of demonic forces in the world has only fueled his determination to find his own path of strength and order.

As Balor prepares to step out into the world, the air is heavy with the threat of demonic invasion, and the people of Kenabres are tense, yet hopeful that heroes will rise to defend them. It's in this atmosphere of impending conflict and chaos that Balor begins his journey.

Potential Actions:

{Seek out a local monastery or a wise monk to begin formal training.}
{Explore the town of Kenabres, observing and learning about the current state of affairs.}
{Offer to help the townsfolk with any tasks, using this as a chance to practice your skills.}
{Meditate at a serene spot, seeking inner peace and clarity for the journey ahead.}
{Practice your martial arts, either alone or by finding a sparring partner.}
Balor's journey is now ready to begin. What will be his first step in this grimdark world, as he seeks to carve his own destiny and perhaps, unknowingly, become a beacon of hope in these dark times?

User
I don't know much about monks other than the basics, it would be best to find some guidence, I seek out a local monk to help me with that.
GPT
As Balor steps through the streets of Kenabres, his eyes are drawn to the spire of an ancient temple that rises above the town's modest skyline. This temple, known as the Sanctuary of Harmonious Wisdom, is rumored to be a place where monks gather and train. With a heart full of hope and determination, Balor makes his way to the temple, seeking guidance on the path of a monk.

Arriving at the Sanctuary of Harmonious Wisdom:
The temple stands serene and quiet, a stark contrast to the tense atmosphere of the town. Its walls are adorned with intricate carvings depicting various martial arts stances and philosophical teachings. The air is filled with a sense of peace and balance.

Potential Encounter:
As Balor approaches, he is greeted by an elderly monk, Master Liang. His face is lined with age, but his eyes shine with a youthful vigor. Master Liang is known for his wisdom and his skill in the martial arts.

Master Liang:
"Ah, a new face seeking the path of discipline and inner strength. Welcome to the Sanctuary of Harmonious Wisdom. I am Master Liang. Tell me, young one, what brings you to our humble abode?"

Balor's Interaction:

{Explain your desire to train as a monk and seek guidance.}
{Ask about the history and teachings of the temple.}
{Inquire about the current situation in Kenabres and how the monks are involved.}
{Request to observe or participate in a training session.}
{Politely ask about any renowned monks who might have trained here.}
As Balor converses with Master Liang, the opportunity to learn more about the monk's way of life, their training, and how they are responding to the demonic threat unfolds before him. This encounter could be the first step in Balor's journey towards mastering his own abilities and understanding the deeper philosophies of the monk's path. How would you like Balor to proceed in this interaction?

User

I'm looking to start some training as a monk. I understand some basics from doing my own training and reading up back on the farm, but I don't actually have any formal training, and I haven't had anyone evaluate my techniques yet either. I was hoping you could help me with that and guide me on the next steps?
"""
GPT
Master Liang listens intently as Balor speaks, his eyes reflecting a deep understanding and empathy. After a moment of thoughtful silence, he nods gently.

"Indeed, young Balor. The path of the monk is one of constant learning and self-improvement, both of the mind and the body. It is commendable that you have taken the initiative to train on your own. Let us see where you stand, and from there, we can guide you further."

Master Liang's Evaluation:
He leads Balor to a tranquil courtyard within the temple grounds, where the air seems alive with a quiet energy. Here, under the watchful eyes of Master Liang, Balor is asked to demonstrate his self-taught techniques.

Action Roll - Performance Check:
To determine how well Balor performs his techniques in front of Master Liang, let's roll a Performance check. Given Balor's background and self-training, we'll add his Dexterity modifier to this check.

Rolling for Performance (Dexterity Modifier +2): Let's see how Balor does.

Balor's Performance Check: 4 (Roll: 2 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)

As Balor begins to demonstrate his self-taught techniques, it becomes clear that while his intentions are earnest, his movements lack the refined precision and fluidity characteristic of a trained monk. His strikes are somewhat awkward, and his stances are not as stable as they should be. It's evident that his self-training, while commendable, has not provided him with the foundational skills necessary for a monk.

Master Liang watches with a patient and non-judgmental gaze. Once Balor finishes, he speaks, "Do not be disheartened, Balor. The path of the monk is filled with challenges, and every master once stood where you are now. You have a strong spirit and a willingness to learn, which are vital on this journey. Let us begin your training anew, focusing on the basics to build a solid foundation."

Master Liang's Offer:

Basic stance and movement training to improve balance and fluidity.
Introduction to breathing techniques for better focus and endurance.
Guided meditation sessions to develop mental resilience.
Practice sessions with other novice monks to refine combat skills.
Theoretical lessons on the philosophy of the monk's path.
Balor has a unique opportunity to train under Master Liang's guidance, which will undoubtedly aid him in his quest for self-improvement and adventure. This training will not only enhance his physical abilities but also provide him with mental and spiritual growth.

Next Steps:
How would Balor like to proceed with this training? You can choose one or more of the offered training aspects, or perhaps there's something specific Balor wishes to focus on? Let me know your preferences, and we'll continue to develop Balor's skills as a monk.

Master Liang nods approvingly at Balor's choice to focus on the fundamentals of stance and movement. "A wise decision," he says. "The foundation of all martial arts lies in one's stance and movement. Mastery of these basics will grant you balance and grace, crucial for a monk's path."

Training in Basic Stance and Movement:
Master Liang begins to instruct Balor in the ancient techniques of stance and movement. The training is rigorous, emphasizing the importance of proper foot placement, weight distribution, and fluid transitions between positions. Balor is taught to move with purpose, each step a deliberate act of balance and control.

Training Outcomes:

Improved Balance: Balor's sense of balance is enhanced, aiding him in maintaining stability in combat and challenging terrains.
Fluid Movements: His movements become more fluid, allowing for quicker and more graceful maneuvers.
Stance Mastery: Mastering various stances enables Balor to adapt to different combat situations effectively.
Roll for Training Progress:
To determine the effectiveness of Balor's training under Master Liang, let's roll a Dexterity check. This will represent his ability to grasp and apply the teachings.

Rolling for Dexterity Check: Let's see how Balor's training progresses.

Balor's Dexterity Check: 12 (Roll: 10 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)

During the course of his training, Balor shows noticeable improvement in his stance and movement. While he is not yet a master, the teachings of Master Liang have certainly begun to take root. Balor's movements are more controlled and his balance more steady. There's a newfound fluidity in his steps, a clear sign of his dedication and potential.

Master Liang observes the progress with a hint of a smile, "You have done well, Balor. Remember, the path of the monk is an endless journey of self-improvement. Today, you have taken a significant step forward."

Next Steps in Training:
With this foundational training underway, Balor can continue to refine these skills or explore other aspects of the monk's training. Would Balor like to:

Continue focusing on stance and movement to further refine these skills?
Begin learning basic combat techniques and forms?
Explore breathing techniques and meditation for mental focus?
Interact with other novice monks, perhaps sparring or sharing experiences?
Take a break from training to explore more of Kenabres and its current situation?
Feel free to choose the next step in Balor's journey, or if there's another path you'd like to explore, let me know! The road to mastery is long, but every step brings its own rewards and insights.

User
what reflection does the new training give me to my ability scores, skills, or does it just grant experience towards the next monk level?
GPT
The rigorous training under Master Liang's guidance, focusing on stance and movement, offers several benefits to Balor. While it does not directly increase ability scores, it does contribute to skill proficiency and experience gain, which are crucial for a character's development in D&D. Here's how Balor's training reflects in his progression:

Skill Proficiency Improvement: Balor's training specifically enhances skills related to balance and movement. Therefore, there could be an improvement in skills like Acrobatics. This doesn't necessarily increase the skill modifier but reflects his growing proficiency, which could be narratively considered in future skill checks.

Experience Gain: Dedicated training, especially in a discipline as demanding as the monk's path, certainly warrants experience points (XP). This experience will contribute towards Balor's progression to the next level. At each level, characters gain new abilities and improvements, which could include increases in ability scores (at certain levels) and new skill proficiencies.

Character Development: Training also contributes to character development, which is not just limited to stats. It's about Balor's growth in confidence, discipline, and understanding of the monk's way. This can be reflected in role-playing and narrative interactions.

As for the exact experience points gained, that depends on how the Dungeon Master (DM) adjudicates training and skill development. In a typical D&D game, experience points are awarded for overcoming challenges, which can include combat, solving puzzles, and significant role-playing achievements.

If you'd like, I can assign a specific amount of experience points for this training session, considering its intensity and the valuable skills learned. Let me know if you'd like me to do this, and we can continue Balor's journey, potentially exploring more aspects of his training or delving into adventures and quests in Kenabres.

User
what's my current exp and how much do I need to level up?
GPT
As a starting character in Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, Balor begins at level 1. The experience points (XP) needed to advance to each level are defined by the game's leveling system. Here's a quick overview:

Starting Level: 1
Current Experience Points: 0 XP (as a new character)
Experience Points to Reach Level 2: 300 XP
The training Balor has undergone under Master Liang's guidance is significant, especially for a beginner. Given the intensity and the skills he has begun to develop, I would award Balor experience points for this effort. Let's say this training session grants Balor 50 XP. This reflects the initial yet crucial step he has taken on his journey to mastery.

New Experience Total: 50 XP
Experience Needed to Reach Level 2: 250 XP
This training is just the start of Balor's adventure. As he continues to face challenges, whether through further training, combat, exploration, or significant role-playing interactions, he will gain more experience points. Remember, each encounter and decision can contribute to his growth as a character, both in terms of skills and experience.

Would Balor like to continue his training in another aspect, or is he ready to venture out into Kenabres, perhaps to explore, undertake a task, or engage with the townsfolk or other characters? The choice is yours, and each will offer its own opportunities for growth and experience.

User
let's continue the training, try the breathing one./
GPT
Balor, inspired by his progress in stance and movement, decides to delve into the art of breathing techniques under Master Liang's tutelage. This aspect of training focuses on controlling breath to enhance focus, endurance, and even manage internal energy – key elements for a monk.

Breathing Technique Training:
Master Liang introduces Balor to the ancient practices of controlled breathing. These exercises are designed to help regulate the body's energy flow, improve concentration, and maintain calmness in stressful situations. Balor learns how to synchronize his breath with his movements, a fundamental skill that enhances both physical exertion and mental clarity.

Training Outcomes:

Improved Concentration: Balor's ability to focus is heightened, which could aid him in tasks requiring attention and precision.
Enhanced Endurance: The breathing exercises increase Balor's stamina, beneficial in prolonged physical activities or combat.
Calmness Under Pressure: Balor learns to maintain composure in stressful situations, a valuable trait for any adventurer.
Roll for Training Progress:
To determine how effectively Balor assimilates these breathing techniques, let's roll a Constitution check. This represents his physical capacity to adapt to and perform these exercises.

Rolling for Constitution Check: Let's see how Balor's training in breathing techniques progresses.

Balor's Constitution Check: 14 (Roll: 12 + Constitution Modifier: +2)

Balor's training in breathing techniques proves to be quite fruitful. He shows a notable ability to control and regulate his breathing, even under physically demanding situations. This new skill not only enhances his physical endurance but also aids in maintaining mental focus and calmness. Master Liang commends Balor's progress, noting his natural aptitude for these foundational monk practices.

Experience Gain:
Given the successful completion of this training, Balor earns additional experience points. Let's award him another 50 XP for mastering these essential breathing techniques.

Previous Experience Total: 50 XP
New Experience Points Earned: 50 XP
Updated Experience Total: 100 XP
Experience Needed to Reach Level 2: 200 XP
With improved breathing techniques under his belt, Balor is becoming more adept in the ways of the monk. His journey on this path is shaping him into a more disciplined and focused individual, ready to face the challenges ahead.

Next Steps:
Would Balor like to continue his training in another area, or is he feeling prepared to explore outside the monastery and engage with the world? Perhaps he might want to test his new skills in a different setting or undertake a task that will put his training to practical use. The choice is yours, and each path offers its own unique opportunities and challenges. Let me know how you wish to proceed!

User
what other areas are there left?
GPT
Having already honed his stance, movement, and breathing techniques, Balor has several other areas of monk training to explore. Each area offers unique skills and insights that will further enhance his abilities and understanding of the monk's way. Here are some options for Balor's continued training:

Combat Techniques and Forms: Master Liang can teach Balor various martial arts forms and combat techniques that are integral to a monk's fighting style. This includes learning different strikes, kicks, blocks, and even the basics of using monk weapons like the staff or nunchaku.

Meditation and Mindfulness: Delving deeper into meditation, Balor can learn to sharpen his mental resilience and possibly gain insights into his inner self. This practice can also aid in harnessing and channeling his Ki, a vital energy that monks learn to control.

Philosophical Teachings: Understanding the philosophy behind the monk's way is crucial. This training involves learning about the tenets of discipline, self-control, and the balance between the physical and spiritual realms.

Acrobatic and Athletic Training: Focusing on improving agility, balance, and coordination, this training would enhance Balor's acrobatic skills, making him more adept at navigating challenging terrains and performing feats of dexterity.

Sparring Sessions: Engaging in sparring sessions with other monks or Master Liang himself would provide practical combat experience, testing and refining Balor's fighting skills in a controlled environment.

Each of these training areas will contribute to Balor's growth as a monk, providing him with the skills and knowledge necessary to face the challenges and adventures that lie ahead. Which area would you like Balor to focus on next in his training journey?

Balor, having built a solid foundation in stance, movement, and breathing techniques, now turns his focus to learning combat techniques and forms, the heart of a monk's martial prowess.

Combat Techniques and Forms Training:
Master Liang begins instructing Balor in the various forms of martial arts unique to the monk's path. This includes a blend of offensive and defensive maneuvers, each designed to turn the monk's body into a precise, fluid, and potent weapon. Balor learns strikes that harness speed and precision, kicks that combine power and agility, and blocks that are as much about redirecting energy as they are about defense.

Training Focus:

Strikes and Kicks: Focusing on quick, precise strikes and powerful kicks, Balor learns to deliver potent blows with both fists and feet.
Blocks and Counters: Training in blocks and counterattacks enhances Balor's defensive capabilities, teaching him to respond to opponents' moves with agility and tact.
Forms and Sequences: Master Liang teaches Balor several martial arts forms - sequences of movements that flow seamlessly, combining attack and defense.
Roll for Training Progress:
To determine Balor's progress in mastering these combat techniques, let's roll a Dexterity check, reflecting his ability to execute these maneuvers with precision and grace.

Rolling for Dexterity Check: Let's see how well Balor adapts to this advanced aspect of his training.

Balor's Dexterity Check for Combat Training: 11 (Roll: 9 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)

During the combat techniques and forms training, Balor shows a decent level of aptitude. His movements, while not yet perfectly fluid, are certainly improving. He grasps the basic strikes and kicks with a good degree of proficiency, and his blocks and counters are becoming more instinctive. The forms, complex sequences of movements, are challenging, but Balor is able to perform them with increasing confidence.

Master Liang observes this progress with a nod of approval. "You have a natural talent for this, Balor. Remember, mastery comes not only from physical training but also from understanding the flow and rhythm of combat. Keep practicing, and you will refine these skills further."

let's now do meditation.
GPT
Balor, having honed his physical skills, now turns inward to the art of meditation and mindfulness, an essential aspect of a monk's discipline. This practice not only strengthens the mind but also deepens the connection to the inner self and the world around.

Meditation and Mindfulness Training:
Master Liang guides Balor into the serene world of meditation. The training involves techniques to quiet the mind, focus thoughts, and achieve a state of peaceful awareness. Balor learns to center himself, finding calmness even amidst chaos, a skill that will be invaluable in the trials to come.

Focus of the Training:

Mindful Breathing: Balor practices focusing on his breath, an exercise that helps in achieving mental clarity and control.
Mental Resilience: Through meditation, Balor strengthens his mental fortitude, preparing him to face stress and fear without losing focus or confidence.

Focus of the Training:

Gymnastic Maneuvers: Balor practices flips, rolls, and agile movements, improving his ability to maneuver in combat and navigate tricky terrains.
Balance Exercises: Training on narrow beams and uneven surfaces, Balor enhances his ability to maintain balance in challenging situations.
Endurance Tests: Endurance runs and obstacle courses build Balor's stamina, crucial for long journeys and prolonged battles.
Roll for Training Progress:
To evaluate Balor's progress in acrobatic and athletic training, we'll conduct a combined check using both his Dexterity (for acrobatics) and Constitution (for athletics).

Rolling for Acrobatics (Dexterity Check) and Athletics (Constitution Check): Let's see how Balor fares in this dual aspect of his training.

Balor's Acrobatics (Dexterity) Check: 22 (Roll: 20 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)
Balor's Athletics (Constitution) Check: 22 (Roll: 20 + Constitution Modifier: +2)

In an extraordinary display of natural talent and hard work, Balor excels in both acrobatic and athletic training. His gymnastic maneuvers are executed with remarkable precision and grace, showcasing a level of agility that is rare even among seasoned practitioners. Similarly, his performance in balance exercises and endurance tests is outstanding, demonstrating a physical prowess that speaks to both his natural ability and dedication to his training.

Master Liang watches in awe, clearly impressed by Balor's exceptional performance. "Your progress is astounding, Balor. You have a rare gift for physical expression and endurance. These skills will serve you well in your journey as a monk and beyond."

User
let's proceed with the level up, what are my choices.
GPT
As Balor advances to level 2 as a Monk in Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, he gains new abilities and has the opportunity to refine his skills. Here's a summary of the key features and choices available at this level:

Hit Points Increase: Balor's maximum hit points will increase. Monks gain 1d8 (or 5) hit points per level, plus their Constitution modifier. Given Balor's Constitution modifier of +2, he would gain 7 additional hit points at level 2.

Ki Points: At level 2, Balor gains access to Ki, a mystical energy that fuels a monk's special abilities. The number of Ki points is equal to his monk level. These points can be used to perform specific Ki features, such as:

Flurry of Blows: Immediately after Balor takes the Attack action on his turn, he can spend 1 Ki point to make two unarmed strikes as a bonus action.
Patient Defense: Balor can spend 1 Ki point to take the Dodge action as a bonus action on his turn.
Step of the Wind: Balor can spend 1 Ki point to take the Disengage or Dash action as a bonus action on his turn, and his jump distance is doubled for the turn.
Unarmored Movement: Balor's speed increases by 10 feet while he is not wearing armor or wielding a shield. This bonus is reflected in all his speed scores.

Monastic Tradition (at Level 3): While Monastic Tradition choices typically come into play at level 3, it's good to start thinking about this for the next level. Each tradition offers unique techniques and powers. The traditions include the Way of the Open Hand (focused on versatile martial arts techniques), Way of Shadow (stealth and subterfuge), Way of the Four Elements (harness elemental powers), and others depending on the sourcebooks available.

For now, the most immediate choices involve allocating the increase in hit points and beginning to utilize Ki points. As Balor grows stronger and more skilled, he'll soon need to choose his Monastic Tradition, shaping the direction of his future development.

let's finish the training with a sparring session, ask the monk master if there's anyone to spar with.
GPT
Balor, feeling more confident and adept with his newfound skills, approaches Master Liang to request a sparring session. This will be an excellent opportunity to test his abilities in a controlled environment and gain valuable combat experience.

Balor's Request to Master Liang:
“Master Liang, I feel that I have grown much under your guidance and would like to test my skills in a sparring session. Is there someone here who I could spar with?”

Master Liang nods with a smile, understanding the importance of practical application in martial arts training. "Indeed, Balor. Sparring is an essential part of a monk's journey, allowing you to understand the flow of combat and learn from real exchanges. I will arrange for you to spar with one of our more experienced disciples. It will be a good measure of your progress and an opportunity for further learning."

Sparring Partner:
Master Liang introduces Balor to a fellow monk named Jin, known for his skill and control in combat. Jin greets Balor with a respectful bow, a sign of camaraderie and mutual respect among practitioners of martial arts.

Sparring Session:
The sparring is friendly but earnest, with both participants seeking to learn from each other. It's a chance for Balor to apply his training in movement, combat techniques, and breathing in a dynamic setting.

Roll for Sparring Outcome:
To determine how well Balor performs in the sparring session, we will roll an opposed check, comparing Balor's combat abilities against Jin's. This will involve a series of attack rolls and defensive maneuvers.

Rolling for Balor's Sparring Performance: Let's see how Balor fares in this sparring session. We'll make a series of rolls to simulate the exchange of blows and defensive tactics.

Balor's Sparring Session Results:

Attack Roll: 10 (Roll: 8 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)
Defense Roll: 7 (Roll: 5 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)
Overall Performance Roll: 12 (Roll: 9 + Wisdom Modifier: +3)
During the sparring session with Jin, Balor demonstrates a reasonable level of proficiency, but it's clear there's room for improvement. His attacks, while well-intentioned, are somewhat predictable and lack the finesse of a more experienced monk. In defense, Balor manages to block some of Jin's strikes, but he also misses a few, indicating a need for better anticipation and reflexes.

However, Balor's overall performance, considering his relatively short training period, is commendable. He shows a good understanding of the basics and is able to apply some of the techniques he learned. More importantly, he maintains his focus and composure throughout the session, a testament to his meditation training.

Master Liang, observing the sparring, offers constructive feedback. "You have shown good progress, Balor. Remember, each sparring session is a learning opportunity. Observe your opponent, adapt to their moves, and find your rhythm. With more practice, you will sharpen these skills."

Experience Gain:
For engaging in this sparring session and learning from it, Balor gains additional experience points. Let's award him 25 XP for this practical application of his training.

Previous Experience Total: 325 XP
New Experience Points Earned: 25 XP
Updated Experience Total: 350 XP
With the completion of this sparring session, Balor's training at the monastery comes to a fulfilling end, for now. He has grown significantly, both in skill and character.

Next Steps:
Is Balor ready to step out into the world, perhaps to explore more of Kenabres, seek out a quest, or interact with other characters? Or is there something else he wishes to do? Let me know how you'd like to proceed with Balor's journey!

User
let's try and find a quest from someone, maybe some combat quest to help hone my skills further.
GPT
Empowered by his training and recent sparring experience, Balor feels ready to embark on a quest that might offer not only a chance to utilize his skills but also to serve a greater purpose. He decides to seek out a quest, preferably one involving combat, to further hone his abilities.

Searching for a Quest:
Balor begins his search in Kenabres, a town currently bracing for the ever-present threat of demonic incursions. The air is tense, and the townsfolk are busy with preparations and defenses. Among them, there are likely to be those in need of assistance, especially from someone with Balor's unique set of skills.

Potential Sources for a Quest:

Town Notice Board: Often a hub for local requests and postings, the town notice board might have quests or calls for help, some of which may involve combat or protection duties.
Local Tavern: Taverns are not only places for rest and gathering but also for information. Conversations overheard or engaging with patrons might lead to discovering quests.
Kenabres Militia: The local militia, tasked with the defense of the town, might have need of extra hands, especially in these troubled times.
Captain Irabeth Tirabade: As a notable figure in Kenabres, Captain Irabeth may have specific tasks or missions that require the skills of a combatant like Balor.
Temple or Sanctuary: Religious institutions sometimes have missions that involve dealing with threats, both mundane and supernatural.
Balor's Choice:
How would Balor like to proceed in his search for a quest? Each option offers different opportunities and challenges. Let me know your preference, and we'll explore the path that Balor chooses.

User
let's try the notice board.
GPT
Balor makes his way to the town's central square where the notice board stands. It's a focal point for the community, a place where news, requests, and various announcements are posted. As Balor approaches, he notices a variety of notices – some seeking help, others offering jobs, and a few warning about the dangers lurking near the town.

Scanning the Notice Board:
Among the various postings, Balor's attention is drawn to a few that seem to align with his desire for a combat-related quest:

Goblin Troubles: A local farmer has posted a request for aid. Goblins have been raiding his livestock, and he seeks someone brave enough to help protect his farm and possibly track down and deal with the goblin threat.

Bandit Menace: A merchant has put up a notice about bandits harassing travelers on a nearby trade route. The merchant is offering a reward for anyone who can ensure safe passage or deal with the bandit problem.

Mysterious Disappearances: The town guard has posted a notice about recent disappearances of townsfolk near the forest edge. They suspect foul play and are seeking able-bodied individuals to investigate and confront whatever dangers might be lurking there.

Demonic Activity: A local cleric has requested assistance with a potential demonic presence in an abandoned chapel outside town. This is a dangerous task, requiring someone with combat skills and possibly some knowledge of the supernatural.

Escort Mission: A group of pilgrims is looking for an escort to a sacred site that has recently become perilous due to increased monster sightings. They need someone skilled in combat to ensure their safe passage.

Balor's Decision:
Each of these quests offers unique challenges and opportunities for Balor to test his skills and gain experience. Which of these quests piques Balor's interest the most? Let me know your choice, and we'll set off on Balor's first adventure outside the monastery!

User
let's try the goblin troubles one.
GPT
Balor, feeling a sense of duty and seeing an opportunity to put his training into practice, decides to pursue the quest involving the goblin troubles at the local farm. He takes the notice from the board and heads towards the address mentioned, prepared to offer his assistance and confront the goblin menace.

Arriving at the Farm:
The farm in question lies on the outskirts of Kenabres, a modest but well-tended piece of land. Upon arrival, Balor is greeted by the farmer, a weary but determined man named Eldon. Eldon explains that a group of goblins has been raiding his farm at night, stealing livestock and damaging his crops. He's worried not only about his livelihood but also about the safety of his family.

Eldon's Request:
Eldon asks Balor to help protect the farm and, if possible, track down the goblins' lair to put an end to these raids. He offers a modest reward but promises to spread word of Balor's bravery and skills.

Potential Actions:

{Survey the farm for signs of goblin activity and possible entry points.}
{Set up a watch for the night to catch the goblins in the act.}
{Speak with Eldon's family and any farmhands for additional information.}
{Prepare traps or defensive measures around the farm.}
{Track the goblins back to their lair during the day, if any trails are found.}
Balor now stands ready to assist Eldon and protect the farm. His actions here could not only help a family in need but also serve as a real test of his abilities as a monk. What would Balor like to do first in preparation for dealing with the goblin threat?

GPT
Balor decides to set up a watch for the night, aiming to catch the goblins in the act. This proactive approach allows him to potentially engage with the goblins directly, assess their strength and tactics, and protect the farm from further harm.

Setting Up the Night Watch:
As dusk falls, Balor positions himself strategically on the farm. He chooses a spot that gives him a good view of the livestock pens and the fields, areas that have been previously targeted by the goblins. The night is quiet, save for the occasional rustle of leaves and the distant call of nocturnal creatures.

Staying Alert:
Balor's training in meditation and mindfulness comes in handy, helping him stay alert and focused despite the late hour. His senses are attuned to any sign of movement or unusual noise.

Roll for Perception Check:
To determine how well Balor perceives any incoming threats or notices the goblins, we will roll a Perception check. Given his heightened senses and training, he will be able to use his Wisdom modifier for this roll.

Rolling for Balor's Perception (Wisdom Modifier +3): Let's see how effective Balor's watch is during the night.

Error analyzing
Balor's Perception Check: 14 (Roll: 11 + Wisdom Modifier: +3)

As the night deepens, Balor maintains a vigilant watch. His patience and keen senses pay off. Around midnight, he detects subtle movements at the edge of the farm. Shadowy figures, small and nimble, are stealthily making their way towards the livestock pens. Their size and mannerisms match that of goblins.

Goblin Encounter:
Balor observes a small group of goblins, armed with crude weapons, attempting to sneak into the farm. Their goal seems to be the livestock, likely planning another raid as they did in the previous nights.

Potential Actions:

{Confront the goblins directly, using combat skills to fend them off.}
{Attempt to capture one of the goblins for interrogation.}
{Create a noise or distraction to scare the goblins away, avoiding direct confrontation.}
{Follow the goblins silently, hoping to discover their lair.}
{Alert Eldon and any farmhands to help in dealing with the goblins.}
Balor must now decide how to handle this situation. His actions could determine the safety of the farm and potentially lead to resolving the goblin threat once and for all. What would you like Balor to do?

GPT
Balor chooses a stealthy approach, deciding to follow the goblins silently. His goal is to track them back to their lair, uncovering the root of the problem and possibly finding a way to put an end to the raids for good.

Stealthily Following the Goblins:
Using the skills honed during his training, Balor keeps a safe distance, ensuring he remains unseen and unheard. The moonlit night aids his efforts, casting enough light to see without revealing his presence.

Roll for Stealth Check:
To determine how successfully Balor can follow the goblins without being detected, we'll roll a Stealth check, utilizing his Dexterity modifier.

Rolling for Balor's Stealth (Dexterity Modifier +2): Let's see how well Balor manages to tail the goblins back to their potential hideout.

Error analyzing
Balor's Stealth Check: 10 (Roll: 8 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)

Balor's attempt to follow the goblins is moderately successful. He manages to keep up with them without making any significant noise, but his movements are not as concealed as he would have liked. The goblins, while not the most perceptive creatures, seem slightly on edge, as if sensing that something might be amiss.

Tracking the Goblins:
Despite the slight risk of detection, Balor continues to follow the goblins. They move with purpose through the fields and into the woods, suggesting they are familiar with the terrain. After a cautious trek, Balor observes the goblins entering a small cave hidden among the thickets – likely their lair.

Observing the Lair:
From a safe distance, Balor surveys the cave entrance. It's small, suitable for creatures the size of goblins, and there are signs of frequent use. The number of tracks around the area suggests this lair could house more goblins than the ones he followed.

Potential Actions:

{Plan a cautious approach to explore the cave and assess the number of goblins inside.}
{Return to the farm to inform Eldon and possibly gather reinforcements before confronting the goblins in their lair.}
{Set up a temporary camp to monitor the cave, gathering more information about their numbers and movements.}
{Attempt a stealthy infiltration of the cave to gather intelligence or find something to use against them.}
{Create a distraction at the cave entrance and observe the goblins' reactions and numbers as they emerge.}
Balor now has several options on how to proceed with this newfound information about the goblin lair. His actions here could significantly impact the goblin situation and the safety of Eldon's farm. What would you like Balor to do next?

Balor decides to infiltrate the goblin lair stealthily, aiming to gather intelligence on their numbers, possibly find what they've stolen from the farm, and identify any weaknesses that could be exploited. This daring move requires both caution and cunning.

Approaching the Cave:
Balor takes a moment to center himself, recalling the breathing techniques and the mindfulness training he received. He moves towards the cave entrance, blending with the shadows, his steps light and silent.

Roll for Stealth Check:
To determine the success of Balor's stealthy infiltration, we will roll another Stealth check, taking into account his Dexterity modifier.

Rolling for Balor's Stealth (Dexterity Modifier +2): Let's see how effectively Balor can navigate the interior of the goblin lair without being detected.

Balor's Stealth Check for Cave Infiltration: 5 (Roll: 3 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)

As Balor enters the cave, his attempt at stealth is less successful than anticipated. The dimly lit interior, filled with unfamiliar sounds and obstacles, challenges his ability to move quietly. A loose stone shifts under his foot, creating a small but noticeable noise.

Goblin Alertness:
The sound catches the attention of a nearby goblin. Startled, it turns towards the noise, squinting into the darkness. Balor quickly ducks behind a rock formation, but the goblin is now alert and begins to grumble, calling out in its guttural language.

Urgent Decisions:
Balor finds himself in a precarious situation. He has a few options:

{Try to quietly retreat from the cave and regroup.}
{Remain hidden and hope the goblin doesn't find him, waiting for a chance to continue exploring.}
{Prepare for a potential confrontation, using the element of surprise to his advantage.}
{Attempt to communicate or negotiate with the goblin, using non-aggressive gestures.}
{Use a distraction, like throwing a stone, to mislead the goblin and move deeper into the cave unseen.}
Balor must act quickly and wisely. His choice could determine the outcome of this risky infiltration. What would you like Balor to do in this tense moment?

attack the goblin
GPT
Balor decides to take the initiative and confront the goblin directly. Understanding the element of surprise is still partially on his side, he prepares to launch a swift attack on the unsuspecting goblin.

Attacking the Goblin:
Balor swiftly emerges from his hiding spot, moving quickly and silently toward the goblin. His training in martial arts comes into play as he aims to incapacitate the goblin before it can raise an alarm.

Roll for Attack:
To determine the outcome of Balor's attack, we'll roll an attack roll using his Dexterity modifier, suitable for a monk's unarmed strike.

Rolling for Balor's Attack (Dexterity Modifier +2): Let's see how effective Balor's surprise attack is against the goblin.

Balor's Attack Roll: 17 (Roll: 15 + Dexterity Modifier: +2)

Balor's attack is executed with precision and speed. He swiftly closes the distance and lands a powerful, well-placed strike on the goblin. Caught off guard, the goblin is unable to react in time and is hit squarely.

Outcome of the Attack:
The force of Balor's strike is enough to knock the goblin unconscious. It collapses to the ground, silently and without raising further alarm. This quick action has prevented the goblin from alerting others, allowing Balor to maintain the element of surprise within the cave.

Next Steps:
With the immediate threat neutralized, Balor has a few options:

{Quickly search the goblin for any useful items or information.}
{Continue to explore the cave, staying alert for more goblins or clues.}
{Drag the goblin to a hidden spot to avoid detection by others.}
{Set up an ambush in case other goblins come to investigate.}
{Retreat and plan a more strategic approach, now that the initial infiltration attempt has been compromised.}
Balor's actions have given him a momentary advantage. How would you like him to proceed in the goblin lair?

Balor chooses to continue exploring the cave, proceeding with caution. With the immediate threat neutralized, he moves deeper into the goblin lair, alert for any signs of more goblins or clues about their activities.

Cautious Exploration:
Balor carefully navigates the cave, his senses heightened and his movements silent. The cave twists and turns, leading deeper underground. The dim light and echoing sounds make it difficult to gauge the size of the lair or the number of inhabitants.

Observations:
As he progresses, Balor notices various signs of goblin occupation: crude sleeping quarters, scattered belongings, and remnants of stolen goods. The deeper he goes, the more he realizes the extent of the goblin presence.

Roll for Perception Check:
To determine how much Balor can discern about the lair and any potential threats or valuable information, we'll roll a Perception check using his Wisdom modifier.

Rolling for Balor's Perception (Wisdom Modifier +3): Let's see what Balor uncovers as he delves further into the goblin lair.

Balor's Perception Check in the Goblin Lair: 17 (Roll: 14 + Wisdom Modifier: +3)

Balor's careful exploration and keen senses serve him well in the goblin lair. He picks up on several key details:

Number of Goblins: There are signs indicating a larger group of goblins than initially anticipated. Tracks and supplies suggest a band of at least a dozen.

Stolen Goods: Balor finds a stash of items that appear to be stolen from the nearby farms, including some belonging to Eldon.

Possible Leader: Deeper in the lair, he notices a section that is better kept, with symbols and decorations that stand out. This could indicate the presence of a goblin leader or shaman.

Escape Routes: Balor identifies a few potential escape routes within the lair, including what looks like a back exit leading to a different part of the forest.

With this information, Balor gains a better understanding of the situation. He now faces several choices:

{Attempt to quietly recover the stolen goods and bring them back to Eldon.}
{Explore the area that seems to belong to the goblin leader for more intel.}
{Plan an ambush or a strategic attack to confront the goblins, potentially targeting their leader.}
{Return to the farm to inform Eldon of his findings and possibly gather reinforcements.}
{Use the back exit to leave the lair and plan a more comprehensive strategy to deal with the goblins, now armed with valuable intel.}
Balor's actions so far have been successful, and he's in a good position to make a significant impact on the goblin threat. What would you like him to do next?

Also you don't have to be limited to a single AI. In this interface you generate, you can offload things from the main DM AI, to smaller AIs.
E.g. you can at first develop a simple wizardry blopper style combat system where at first the main AI gives you a brief description of the enemy encountered, you forward this information to a "monster manual" AI that tells the interface detailed stats on the monsters and basically loads it into the interface's combat encounter scenario.
Then you can poke the DM AI for the current location and feed that into another AI to generate a backtrop; or if later on you want to expand the combat system to a tactical based one, you can ask the AI to draw you a grid based map of the current location.

Probably if you created some sort of interface that mainly used GPT for the actual content generation, but didn't boggle it down with annoying stuff like "exp" or other numbers, instead track that seperatly on the interface, then that would work out well I think.

Probably if you created some sort of interface that mainly used GPT for the actual content generation, but didn't boggle it down with annoying stuff like "exp" or other numbers, instead track that seperatly on the interface, then that would work out well I think.

To be fair, you could use a local implementation like the mixtral one, which works pretty well and is uncensored.
It'll be pretty slow, though maybe you can use it to make a prototype at least.
