Not really. As Alex said, Zak posts a lot of really good stuff on his blog. Lots of nice tables and stuff to steal for your games. Even if you don't grab any of his ideas, it's worth reading just to see what you can do with D&D. His Vornheim book is also worth reading.

Btw, Zak is also pretty good artist/illustrator. He's not a good graphic designer, though, since his book is pretty awful in terms of visual design and organisation.
