Procede to install the game on another computer. If you don't have a second one visit a friend and play it there. If you lost the disc or other discs there exists a certain bay on the internet that can fill your needs. Why no one has noticed this is either because they have shitty memory or didn't bother to replay. Since you're a newfag I recommend you lie low and not make threads until your post count reaches like 500 and you've been here a few months. This should stop constant acussations of being an alt.

I'm not sure - might be a bug, some variable failing to reset or something. Looked up Morte's dialogs and found this:

Looks like the latter is just his normal dialog upon rejoining the party and shouldn't show up the first time you speak with him at the start of the game.

(Plus, I'm pretty sure I've restarted it before without reinstalling and have never encountered this. Too lazy to dig up my CDs and check, though.)

I did find this, though:

"Hey, chief. You okay? You playing corpse or you putting the blinds on the Dusties? I thought you were a deader for sure."
-"Who are you?"
-Ignore the talking skull and explore the room.
-Take a deep breath, shake your head and ignore the skull that is talking to you.
-"I'm sure you have a thousand clever things to say, Morte, but I need you to shut up, set your flags, and join me NOW."

Sorry if I look like a troll, but I'm really not! I guess it's partly my fault since my description of the problem has been so vague. What I mean is, every time I start a new game, Morte just talks as if I played the game before, saying that "he knew that I'd come back.", when I don't want that to happen. He had a lot of dialogue that I wanted to read, but I skipped it because I did a quick game only to adjust the settings of the game(as there's no way to adjust them from the main menu).

Trolling or not, you're definitely in the right place. Oh boy, you are.

There is a mod that restores cut content from Morte's opening dialogue, which was at first much more extended.

I'm replaying Torment with a meticulous walkthorugh and I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere. Need to test it myself, but I have the Morte dialogue mod installed, dunno if it works then.

Great to see that after so many years this game still surprises.
