So, less than 5k to the 4.5M stretch goal.To put this up here: As Bob announced this morning, Fig Slacker Backer is at $45,219. Through our Backer Portal, we are currently at $42,261. <3

Hopefully they finish Deadfire ASAP and immediately start working on Josh's dream turn-based historical RPG
Josh loves Darklands so we're pretty much golden
Ok, this update answers my question about post-campaign donations adding towards stretch goals. Ydwen is pretty much guaranteed to be a full companion

Where do those figures come from? They are close to 42k from PayPal.Ok, this update answers my question about post-campaign donations adding towards stretch goals. Ydwen is pretty much guaranteed to be a full companion
Probably... although 500k to go seems like it still might be a stretch. They've made 100k in the four days since the campaign ended (paypal/slacker), but I imagine the per-day #s are going to start to fall dramatically soon.

You say "crowd favorite" like this is a good recommendation :DIt might be fun having a 'crowd favorite' NPC be a sidekick rather than a full NPC.

I think we are looking good for at least $4.75M.

One of the most compressed schedules we have is our writers, so we have to be careful about anything extra we have them do.

Not in particular. Her description sounded to me like she could, potentially, have fun barks - a cynical surgeon/coroner archetype. And I think that the more you let average writers "develop" a character, the more likely they will mess it up.Ok, this update answers my question about post-campaign donations adding towards stretch goals. Just in case you don't know, they'll add another sidekick to replace Ydwin at 5m, so no need to despair, you'll have your 4 BG1 style companions.
Or is Ydwin in particular that you really want as a sidekick?

I think it can be done like when you encounter a specialist, whose knowledge and understanding of his area of expertise is way above yours and what you thought is possible to reach. You can slaughter enemies by thousands, but never come to this level of knowing nor actually think to ask how their internal organs operate, or in this instance how their souls work and what happens to them when they are dying. So perhaps spending time with this person makes you contemplate what you know and what you see in different light, provided that you are open minded for that and believe him in the first place. But it also terrifies and makes people feel inferior. One cannot help the feeling that you have been a blind watcher of the souls.Personally, I wonder how exactly will writers convey other party members' being "shocked at her intimate familiarity with death and her dispassionate affect in the face of even the most grisly scenes." given the fact this is a game where you slaughter enemies by the scores. What sort of grisly scenes will be offered us by the game narrative, for Ydwen to demonstrate her "dispassionate affect" against.
and you just kill off Ydwin when you first meet her, so it's a win win.
