The writing in the first hour or so has been good and even charming at times, if not verbose as expected. No sign of force-fed sex jokes, or overt "mature" content yet.

OK, setting your default language/IME to English seems to fix it for Windows users. I should have thought of this, this causes bugs in other games like Paradox titles all the time.
