<a href=http://pc.gamexc.com>PC GameXC</a> have <a href=http://pc.gamexc.com/modules.php?module=reviews&id=6>reviewed</a> <a href=http://www.bioware.com>BioWare</a>'s <a href=http://www.swkotor.com>Knights of the Old Republic</a>. They give it <b>9.5 out of 10</b>, which is roughly par for the course at this point.

<blockquote>This game took me thirty hours to complete. I know that because your save games helpfully note the time you've been playing. And it was thirty hours of fun. I played at a solid pace, participating in sidequests and enjoying myself but still moving along, and I think thirty hours is pretty reasonable. There are many games that you just don't want to finish, some you get far enough into that you feel you have to finish out of some sense of duty, and some games you know from the start that you'll be having such a good time you won't WANT it to finish. KOTOR is one of those games you don't want to end, because it's just that much fun. When my game ended, I still had mini-quests I hadn't finished and places I wanted to explore more. Throw in the fact that you can play the game either as a master of the Light Side or the Dark side, and it's a game that fully deserves to be played through more than once. There's no multiplayer or anything, and I can't picture a huge mod community, so there is some limit to the amount of replayability. But KOTOR is just such a great game that it can easily be played through multiple times before you'll feel "done" with the game.</blockquote>

Not really. Just make the only actual plot changing decision--that's the one that comes in the last hour or two of gameplay--differently and you'll have seen all this huge game has to offer. Beyond that, it's just a matter of being rude to people to get their quests or being nice to people and getting their quests.

This is the exact reason why, if I was gonna do a game review, I would play the game through two or three times just to check out every nuance. I did like KOTOR alot when I played it on the Xbox, but after playing it completely through twice and partially through a third time, I would definitely have to give it a lower score than most of these people are giving it. Then again, I don't have Bioware lining my pockets or giving me blowjobs, so I have the freedom to do so. :P

I, like alot of people here, don't go for the number system to much. The only site who does that sort of thing that I tend to respect is Avault. At least they are objective for the most part. Hell, they haven't even done a KOTOR review yet. Don't even know if they plan to. I would like to see them do one though just to see what they had to say about it. Sadly, I can see them giving it a high score, but I think that would depend on who reviewed it as well. Certain reviewers there just don't give a rat's ass about the mainstream think, and I respect those people alot.

Anyways, I guess what I am trying to say is, while I loved the game for the enjoyment it brought me, it does have it's problems and if I HAD to go with numbers, I would give it a 7 at the most. Probably 6.5 just cause I like fractions. :P

I can't imagine what areas he had left to explore.. after 30 hours I'd pretty much seen every corner of every map in the game.

This is true for me as well. I think the first time I played through, I beat it in just under 27 hours and explored every nook and cranny there was to explore.
