Keep in mind that the Gnid account has your old email address. Maybe that's what's throwing you of

Why would that happen? My mail worked for years and it's still perfectly legitimate. Do i need to get a different one for codex?

No, I meant that if you no longer check that old email then maybe you never saw the confirmation emails.

I do check quite regularly even though i'm not big on emailing anymore. I's the only mailbox i ever use for starting a conversation if in need anyway. There were no confirmation stuffies.
