The Foundry update fucked up the search function for it, no certainty whether it's just that it can't find old created content yet, or that it's 100% fucked for the time being.

EDIT: As for furries, it took me literally less than five minutes after creating my Ferasan on Qo'noS for the first furry fleets to start trying to recruit me. I also observed with morbid curiosity when two of them roleplayed on Bajor earlier this week when I was running through Of Bajor. Horribly inane stuff with no regard for canon and likelihoods.

Just so you know guys, assuming we finish three projects every day, we will have our first row of Starbase upgrades next Monday.

The way the system works is that every Tier advanced in one of the three subcategories is worth 1,000 Starbase XP. The first tier for each of the categories is 10,000 tier XP, and each project is worth 1,000. Now, an important part is that we cannot concentrate our efforts yet (more projects on later tiers) is because the Projects are mutually exclusive, I can't run duplicates (and we kinda need to spread out the doff requirements anyway).

So, here's what everyone should do:

1) Disregard females, acquire profit.
2) Remember to run the Academy recruitment assignments as often as possible with multiple alts.

Also, I'm going to become King Space Jew of our fleet, as I'm about to sell my D'Kora for four times the profit!

1) Disregard females, acquire profit.

I don't think you quite understood me.

I am about to make...

Four. Hundred. Million. Credits!

(I bought a D'Kora reward pack for 75 million, much profit will be made)

Well, nowadays the fastest surefire way to make buck is to sell white quality doffs, since the starbase update has made them worth their weight in gold at 100,000+ credits per doff in certain categories (don't sell too many though, we need those assholes for our projects too). Other things include selling Purple Quality Mk XII consoles and purple quality Antiproton ship weapons. Me and Jarpie both got lucky and got a Tuffli Freighter from the Reinforcement packs, which I used to finance my D'Kora purchase.

The entire means of getting lots of cash is by playing the Exchange.

Farm Dilithium - get Zen - Buy doff packs?

It's a bloody good thing that the advancement rate in STO is so fast. I got from lvl 10 to 20 by playing a few missions each day, and it only took me a week or so.

You play this game?? o_O

I play ALL mmo games that come out at least for a while. Some I keep coming back every now and then, most I forget about after a day or two.

STO is the odd one because the most important things for me in an MMO are:

1. How hot the guys are, and if you work a bloody lot in the character editor you can -maybe- make your bridge officers barely passable.

2. How cute the girls are, and if you work a whole fucking lot in the character edit you can -maybe- make your captain slightly pretty.

3. How fabulous the fashion is, and STO is so seriously lacking in that department it's not even funny.

4. How pretty the world is, and other than a couple of quite pretty cluster world most of it looks like hairy fat ass.

5. How fun is the community while making friends or LARPing or just fooling around, and STO is full of nerds, geeks, furries, and creeps.

And since we are at it I like neither Klink ships (they look too cybernegro) nor Fed ships.

However, the space combat is pretty fun and bloody addictive, and just like it happened in MegaTen the gameplay (in space) is quite player-skill based, and most of the playerbase being made up of casual gamers or awful gamers who believe using an Escort like a space turret is smart that means you can get a lot of fawning and attention when you tank several Stadi groups at the same time without getting your hair messed up because the rest sucked at not pulling agro.

No matter what you do, the humans are going to look like they walked right out of a 70s sitcom, and the aliens are going to look like badly made-up humans with a ton of furry latex plastered over their face. And I think that's the whole, charming, awesome geeky point of it.

So Guild Wars 2 is right up your alley?

I don't know. My dad's not going to buy it for me and that's his final word on the matter.

For all his willingness to buy me shit I don't need my dad is pretty close minded about what I am allowed and not allowed to ask for, and even what I am allowed to like or dislike, and there's no game in the universe worth degrading myself to the point of getting a part time job.

Wait what the. White DOFFS are worth money? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit I should probably hop on STO and tear through all those officer cadres I've been packratting. Could use those credits to buy... Something. Since I've still got the F2P cap I'm a bit limited on that.

1. Create alt accounts.
2. Run through the tutorial in 15 minutes.
3. Send the alt something cheap from your storage (say, samples)
4. Post a weird amount of samples at a very high and weird amount of money (say, 93 samples at 9.418.666 credits)
5. Go to main.
6. Find and buy your own samples.
7. Now you can play around the money limit until you have scrounged enough Dil to expand it.

People, it's only 5 dollars to get rid of the credit cap, geez.

And yea, like I said, the starbase feature has caused economic chaos. I remember people here bitching about Dilithium going against CP at 300+ rates, and no it's crashing down on a rocket booster.

Alright bros, five more days and we'll have our first set of Tiers five days (Fed side, KDF is slipping behind due to bloodwine complications). I've gone over the Fleet ships on paper, and I'll give a few words:

First of all, I think it's great they've made endgame variants of so many early game ships (Constitution class refit is still missing, for example). The best way to describe the Fleet ships is that they're Odyssey-parity variants of pre-existing ships (= one more console, more irrelevant stats) and new BO layouts (a few ships have Universal ensigns). The big idea seems to be that the ships are good alternatives to "special" premium ships (the ones with innate abilities, like the Guramba or Excelsior). Again, they're by no means necessary if you ask me (all the truly relevant stuff, like weapon slots and total BO slots, remain the same), but it's nice to have an option to fly, say, Scourge Destroyer at endgame.

Anyway, server is patching now, and it's a pretty big patch. Probably the first step in their PvP rebalancing thing, seeing the Big Thing in the patch:

Energy types are getting rebalanced. Plasma, Polaron and Tetryon are getting major buffs (ie, Plasma DoT is significantly stronger AND increased by skill, Polaron debuffs all Power levels in space and has double duration on Ground) and most procs were improved (my personal bet is that new proc chances will be between 5-10%). Phasers are also getting a cap to them in space, with system disable being limited to once per 10 seconds (not sure if per subsystem or in general), which probably ties in with proc chance increases. Judging from the patch notes, it seems only Antiproton is left as it was.

That's pretty cool to hear. I love Polaron Lolaron cannons and turrets, and anything that will make them more LOL is welcome.

Do all fleet ships require those special stuffies from the C-Store or only those that were C-Store ships to begin with?

That aside, a random question: Is STO multi-client friendly? As in, can you log in several clients from the same computer for a little while?

And I have between 33% and 40% of your D'Kora already. But am losing sanity points at a steady rate. @_@

The ones that have C-Store versions get a huge discount to their price if you have the C-Store version unlocked, as far as I know. Someone told me it's a 75% discount, but like said I don't know how the stuff works yet.

Also, great job with the D'Kora fundraising. The ship is safely deposited and waiting, so I guess you can start referring to it as your D'Kora already. Just remember to pick the character who gets it very carefully.

Forgot to mention people, there's a new Lock Box coming, and a Lobi Store inventory overhaul (including one of the two Tholian ships). The interstellar jewry remains strong under Chinese Overlords.

The Tholian ships (lockbox and Lobi) are here (they're a Science Vessel and a Carrier respectively):

No idea if Thermionic Torpedoes are going to available otherwise at some point.
