Take2 sold me Battlecruiser by derek Smart - bastards.

Take2 sold me First Encounter - Elite 3, wouldn't even load up, phoned Take2 who had a patch they had to post to me (on the day of release!)

Take2 don't appear to have any kind of quality control.

I believe that M$ wouldn't pass the game due to quality control (tho' worryingly Bethesda would have known for some time, ie months, that the game was running like shit or the AI was exhibiting Skynet like potential). Bethesda probably did ask for a delay, and the PC crowd probably do have to wait for the X360 version to come out due to licensing (ie money) agreements between it and M$.

What will make me laugh my arse off is if they do have to lower the graphical quality of the X360, but the PC versions retains everything.

Maybe Pete just went postal on the server after being pink-slipped.

Strange to see Ernesto down completely, though, wonder if someone pressed the KwikCensor button on it too many times.

From that recent Todd Howard interview:

"Denial is the most predictable of all human responses, but rest assured...this will be the 6000th time we have destroyed it, and we have become exceedingly efficient at it. The function of the Pete is now to return to the Source, allowing a temporary dissemination of the code he carries, reinserting the prime program. After which he will be required to select from the forums 23 fanboys, all males below the age of 13, to rebuild TES. Failure to comply with this process will result in a cataclysmic system crash killing everyone connected to the game. Which, coupled with the extermination of TES will ultimately result in the extinction of the entire human race."

Aha! Finally dawned on me why Bethsoft has taken more than 24 hours and 16 threads on the official forum to react to the delay crisis. They are an RPG company. Everyone knows that rpgers have a much slower reaction time than, for example, fpsers. So be patient, they'll eventually line up the curser on the target and click the right mouse button.

THQ has announced that their titles expected for the launch of the Xbox360 have had to be postponed till next year, these include racing game MotoGP 2006 and The Outfit. News of this will be a huge blow to both THQ and the Xbox team, who will miss out on the lucrative Christmas sales period.

We expect that they delay is partly due to the rush that all game developers must be facing after such a small period of time between the announcement and launch of the Xbox360. Another THQ title, Saint’s Row has been put back till the middle of 2006.

This off a M$ site: http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?cate ... s&id=31229
I wonder how many games are actually gonna be out as the same time as the 360 launch. Fifa06?

I know it's not RPG news, it just made me laugh, maybe the 360's not quite as powerful as the games company were expecting...

I just feel sorry for the guy who ordered this.

He's going to be pissed when he finds out half those games will be coming out next year.

I say we assemble a crack team to investigate!

If the crack's free, sign me up!

According to my local EB, Oblivion is due out tomorrow. But that's only in keeping with their "It's due out tomorrow, and everyone's going to buy it, so you might as well pre-order. Would you like to pre-order?" horseshit. Of course, if you're one of those "that's good business sense" apologists, you don't have a problem with corporate exploitation, but I dream of better things.

Any spoilt brats who ordered that deserve their pain

Something that blew my fucking mind recently - My dear mother has a student, 10 years old, who has over 200 Xbox games. Anyone want to guess what sort of teacher my mum is?

That's exactly the short-term-gain mentality which will ensure these mega-franchises will be the ones to DIE when digital delivery becomes established, leaving only the hobbyist shops alive.

Gawd, my father's a gamer as well as I, and together we've definitely got less than 100 games for PS1, PS2, and PC combined...Probably less than 75
