Most complicated ever.

The jrpg threads reminded me of the game Legend of Mana, earlier, which contains the most insanely complicated subgame ('mini' doesn't do it justice) I've ever seen. The depth of rules governing the smithing in that game is insane. There's probably less material to cover in your average year long math class. It makes all the rule bloat in tabletop games seem tame.

This is what I'm talking about.

Anyone else know of any games that are either wholly or even partially as complex as this?

You could almost maybe have an argument there for a PnP game with a DM who loved optional rules. For any console or PC game based on DnD however, the only thing you ever need to know is that you're rolling a d20 + your modifiers vs a target number. It's about as complicated as a game of blackjack.
