That ain't nuthin. Try invading Russia with their ubertech General Winter.

All you need to do is not build roads, develop all your back regions and build some forts. Congratulations, nothing can fuck with you.

So it's realistic then?

A bit off topic, but did you ever play M&B: Napoleonic Wars?
Last time I've played Mount and Blade it was still in beta phase. Was it a mistake to give up on a game that had fun tactical combat but didn't really have any solid grand strategy?
Well, still not much grand strategy, even less really since it's multi-player/combat only. Napoleonic Wars that is. There is just something that's immensely awesome about being a line infantry and shooting in no direction particularly.

A proper regiment requires dedication and quite a few members, so I've mostly dealt in commander mode (with no re-spawn as one of the infantry left) where you lead a small platoon size, uh platoon. And really, it's very refreshing and quite awesome.

Example of regiment warfare:

Wow this shit looks fun.

Unlikely the march of the eagles. Have played the demo, it's so bland and uninspiring, just another generic paradox game. What's new in here anyway?

Need more impressions. I'm a Pdox whore, but I'm also a tight-fisted jew. Is it decent fun? Honestly, as much as I was "meh" about Sengoku, I still don't regret the purchase if it'll help hold me over until EU4.

Sengoku was a field test for some CKII features, pure and simple. MOTE is his own game, not as big as paradox heavyweights, but with a distinct personality.

That's interesting, because since playing CK2 I've thought Japan would be a good setting for it's mechanics. How different are the two?
