Something I posted in another thread here, just before actually, made me want to ask about this idea:
Ok, it has long been known that the upper echelons of society throughout any dark age were the ones with access to information and education. Are there libraries in the game? If so, are they the kind that are private and personal libraries, for a single noble house type of thing, where you join it, and rise high enough in the faction, you have access to it? Or is it the kind where it's available to all upper class citizens that want to pay the high fee?

Yep, there are private libraries. Knowledge is highly valued, so each Noble House has its own library and loremasters. The content is, obviously, varied.
