Well, the inducements caught me by surprise...

01.jpg

Headsplitter is expected. But TWO wandering apothecaries? Huh...

02.jpg

First kick off, I wasn't really expecting much. Not fielding any catcher is standard, since I want more ST not MA...
I was confident I can outbash Jaedar from the start and the rain makes it a bonus for me with the added risk of ball turnovers.

03.jpg

04.jpg

He caught it.

05.jpg

And proceed to KO muckguppy with Headsplitter.

06.jpg

This isn't a huge loss to me. I'm kinda glad he didn't get injured.
Then the rain worked to my advantage when Jaedar tries for the 1 SPP play.

07.jpg

On my turn, Ulminati scored a casualty on the AV6 Guard Rat...

08.jpg

While Jasede scores a mere stun. :(

09.jpg

10.jpg

I was kinda torn about going about the ball or full all out bash. Remember, victory isn't really a priority.

11.jpg

Another 2D block leading to stun by LundB. And it's turn over.
Next turn, Jaedar starts play with Headsplitter.
12.jpg

This time it leads to a bad dice. He burned a reroll to no avail.

13.jpg

It's even stunned.
I capitalized on turn 2 to swarm the ball, but make no attempt for pickup.

14.jpg

15.jpg

That's when the 1D blocks had to come out and Jaedar starts to get the needed results...

16.jpg

Humpalekka gets taken down by 1D block...

17.jpg

And the ball bounces out... into 2 tackle zones.
But that's a non factor to Mr. Big Hands.

18.jpg

Fuck Mutations.
He dodged out with Two Heads...and made a pass & catch at -1

19.jpg

20.jpg

Things start to go downhill from there.

21.jpg

I gave pursuit.
Even got a 3D blitz with Jaedar.
22.jpg

Goddamit. Reroll...

23.jpg

Oh man.
I decided to say fuck it, it's ok. This game's outcome is meaningless. Aim for SPP.

24.jpg

Something that Jasede is failing hard at doing. Seriously. He broke two armor in 3 turns. And all he got are stuns.

25.jpg

Davis with a KO too.

26.jpg

Next turn ball carrier dodges out easily with Two Heads and 4 AG...
And...LundB gets hurt.

27.jpg

28.jpg

He wasn't even hit by a Mighty Blow rat... seriously.

Fuck you very much,stabby.

Well whadya expect after telling me everyone was begging you to sack the AV6 catcher? I knew what I signed up for, so pardon me if I chuckle a bit whenever the little girly catcher can take a hit better than the manly men on the team.

First action I take on the team is to cas a guard rat? :incline:

LundB was good for what he was. But he was an outdated model. The time of Swede has come to an end!

Well, I did save him.
LundB's a BRO-in-law after all. :smug:
01.jpg

I argued that getting a double on a lino was kinda hard. With the reliance on MVPs and the squad size being bigger.
Looking forward though it's not the wrong decision to make. But it did set the tone of the entire match.
I wanted to minimize casualty, but there's no more safety

Let's play on though..
Our turn - we try to catch up to the fleeing GR to force a dodge.

02.jpg

Jaedar made a dodge out of Prehensile Tail
And got his GFI to get within tackle zone.

03.jpg

I didn't blitz. I spent it on getting another Blitzer in there.
Deciding that marking Headsplitter with a Guard piece seemed like a waste, I ordered eklektyk to dodge out - risking a -1 doge.
But instead, what I got was...

04.jpg

Uh, yeah. I misclicked. I said, whatever, and let it happen.

05.jpg

But that happened. He's dead.

:hmmm: This is getting worse, at this point - I realized I made a mistake. I wasn't dealing with the biggest problem on the pitch - Headsplitter.
1. This guy will be used with wild abandon - since he's a merc.
2. This guy has mighty blow.
3. ST5 means 2D blocks are near guaranteed.

06.jpg

Dare I bring in Whitewolf and risk him injury?
And since only Whitewolf had tackle - the Two-head GR are really near guaranteed safety when marked.

07.jpg

08.jpg

Jaedar delayed the TD. Leaving a stunned Davis behind.
And I'm still fishing for that 1 SPP for Jasede the ST6 Ogre...

09.jpg

I didn't mind the turnover...
But the constant stuns on armor breaks bothered me.

10.jpg

All I needed was a single CAS, and passing/scoring in this rain with AG2 is out of the question in this rain.
While his Headsplitter is putting on work, breaking another armor.

11.jpg

Then Jaedar finally TD'ed on turn 6.
12.jpg

That's OK, I setup to receive. This time determined to bring an end to Headsplitter's threat, I setup Whitewolf.
Even the kick-event was favorable for a tying touchdown...
14.jpg

But the kick aim was definitely most unfavorable...
15.jpg

Jaedar really lucked out on this one.
I can't get in there for pickup in one turn (2x GFI) and it's still raining.
Slightly disappointed at the prospect of not scoring this half, I went in to work on primary threat...

16.jpg

17.jpg

Like a monster hunter from Poland's legend, Whitewolf's strike was true and smashed Headsplitter's collar bone in one strike. Problem solved.
The game changed almost completely. There's no longer that Reliable Big Guy blitzes coming in every turn... and the loss of two guards didn't seem like a big deal anymore.

But there's still the rain...
19.jpg

Yeah, I felt I should've left the ball alone back then. What do you guys think?
It went off field - bounces to the opposing half from a crowd toss.

20.jpg

The rats had no problem getting there, and made the pick up roll.

21.jpg

And got a perfect launch with their thrower.

22.jpg

23.jpg

Didn't even need rerolls.
Now, at that point, I realized the half is going to end in a 2-0 score. And the game is probably out of my reach to draw.
The draw is meaningless anyway. So I move on to damage control.

24a.jpg

A block takes down the Skaven's Stormvermin's with Mighty Blow and I call up Whitewolf to deliver the boot. (Yes, I don't mind him getting ejected. As I said, damage control phase)
To my surprise, the ref didn't react.

25.jpg

26.jpg

Smashed hand and Jaedar didn't deploy his apo. He still has 3 APO at this point, I'm like 'What's his game? Does he really love his Gutter Runner that much?'
I applied more pressure on the ball in form of Muckguppy and Xenomorph - hoping to force another kick off in first half - if the weather changes we can start playing to score.

27.jpg

28.jpg

But guess what? No weather change on kick off.
No, I didn't setup for one turn touchdown exactly for that reason - there's not really much sense in trying for that when you can try for free LOS bash SPPs and try a pickup throw for 1 SPP.

29.jpg

Jasede of course, fails to score another casualty yet again. That's like the third stun he landed.
I sent out Jaedar to pick and pass for the 1 SPP he needed.

30.jpg

Like I said, rain ruined the game plan.
The reroll saved the pick, but the pass scattered.

31.jpg

Miraculously, Jasede caught the ball to save the turnover.

32.jpg

Oh well, he bought me a foul attempt.
Once again, I sent Whitewolf to do the job and the ref said, I can't see shit, it's raining so badly.

33.jpg

And KOs the Wrestle Line rat as the first half ended.

35.jpg

OK first half review of mistakes.
1. Not starting at full strength.
Omitting Whitewolf was a critical error. if I had solved Headsplitter's issue earlier, I could've taken control of the game earlier.
Lessons to remember, I guess. When the Superstar went in, 2 of their Mighty Blow left the pitch. That was superb.

2. 2-0 Scoreline
The first was out of my hands, I tried my best with 3D Blitz, but couldn't get anything from a reroll even.
The second was sort of self inflicted - I shoudn't have made the pick up attempt. But it's not a must-win game so maybe it's OK.

3. Eklektyk's Misclick
Yeah that was a downer. Maybe I should've rerolled, but man. That's fine. Maybe the doge failed and he'd be dead anyway.

Conclusion of 1st half:
The second half is completely dependent on the weather - if it still rains on my receiving drive - I'll just grind for 2-1 or 2-0 loss.
No sense in trying to make a drawing comeback that didn't affect league standings. It carries more risk of turnovers too.
Rather just head in straight, bash for SPP where the rain didn't play a factor and their 2 Mighty Blows are out of the game.

Not yet. Go back to the Lego factory where you can actually be useful, Dane.

Can't hear you over the sound of your Volvo engine about to give out. You've been reduced to the speed of a Trabi.

At least the CAS are beginning to trickle in. Sad to see headsplitter didn't get APOed though. That will lead to a less entertainng second half. :(

It's ok I'll just take the Koenigsegg out for a drive instead, speed won't be an issue. Meanwhile... do the Danes even make any cars nowadays? No? Have a nice walk I guess.

Next half is the boring 2-1 grind.

2nd Half
03.jpg

No change in weather for 2nd half. So game plan stays the same: Try to score, but bash and SPP generation is priority.
Again, the ball lands in a kinda bad spot.

04.jpg

Guppy starts the half with a double skull. I rerolled of course.

06.jpg

And Jasede continues to let me down with stuns.

07.jpg

Elsewhere Jaedar somehow made the pick up with no RR requred.

08.jpg

But the catch slipped away. I should've setup stabby for this sort of thing but I didn't want him to steal MVPs.

09.jpg

One ball movement turn wasted for 1 SPP play.
Jaedar dodges out his Big Hands Two heads Rat... thinking of spoiling the catching practice...
Poland's national folklore hero tells him to fuck off...

10.jpg

11.jpg

We're really in control now and just grinding the rat's asses.
On the second try, the pass was completed.
13.jpg

14.jpg

Got the ball forward. Only for Jaedar to respond with a lightning bolt.

15.jpg

This convinced me that he didn't believe I was playing for 2-1 loss.
So I know that he knows that I know what he knows hence therefore I know.
What I know was proven on the next play too, when he sent a lone rat on a suicide 1D block against Poland's finest.

16.jpg

17.jpg

He even rerolled. To a push, nullified by Stand Firm. :smug:
Then came that GR dodge to squeeze into the ball, jeez, how greedy can you get?

18.jpg

Amazingly, the GR didn't get injured.
Whatever, I play on, only to be trolled by muckguppy who ate two RRs in 3 turns.

19.jpg

Whitewolf surfed that offending trash rat...

20.jpg

While Jasede continues to disappoint.

21.jpg

To top off the disappointing turn - Xenomorph can't get hold of the slippery ball.

22.jpg

Greedy skaven keeps coming...

23.jpg

24.jpg

That GR dodge in....

25.jpg

and gets the fucking ball. :rage:

26.jpg

You are such a greedy furfag, Swede.

27.jpg

Xenomorph tells him to cut it out. Intercepting the pass without a reroll, in the fucking rain, causing a turnover.
And I reward the GR's audacity with Poland's finest.

28.jpg

29.jpg

Safe to say, we never lost control of the match at that point onward. The rats defense is a spent force.
They blew all their arsenal at us, Big Hands pickups, Wizard scroll, two 1D blitzes in a row.
We've weathered the storm and in control.
If only some german gender confused man can settle down and just score a single fucking casualty.

30.jpg

More dodge failing - Skavens just won't give up. I don't know what is at stake for them here.
Or maybe the 3 Apo is making them more daring.

31.jpg

Xeno is home free...

32.jpg

And they got another rat out of the game with a failed dodge. Yet no apo was called for the smashed back.

33.jpg

Yep, it's turn 13 and Jaedar thinks 3 Apo isn't enough to protect the 3 GRs...

34.jpg

That's fine, I KO another line rat. And sent Hellraiser further upfield to secure his 2 SPP from TD...

35.jpg

He obliges the catch on turn 15. And I just decided to run down the clock while i bash freely.

37.jpg

38.jpg

Beautiful. But missing a few GRs in there.

39.jpg

C'mon Jasede... Reroll.

40.jpg

OK boy, hurt the guy.

41.jpg

:rage:

Seriously, the most underperforming Big Guy ever.

42.jpg

TD on turn 16 Hellraiser confirmed for a lvl up. Decided to park Ogre and pair of rookie linos on the LOS.
Since Fagsalom wouldn't wake up, stabby gets to touch the damn field with a shit-eating grin on his face.
I worry for any thrown rocks if I were him.

43.jpg

I even obliged Jaedar's request for a good kick, since I felt he deserved it.

44.jpg

He made good on the pick up and pass for 1 SPP routine.
And then declared he will try killing my Ogre.
Next time we meet, I won't be so nice.

45.jpg

Tale of the LOS of AV8s: 2 AV breaks resulting in a stun.
Followed by a +2 assist foul on AV9 that breaks armor.

46.jpg

Just a stun, but it could've been much, much worse.
Full time 2-1

47.jpg

Rain just not letting us play to score in this match. Considering what's at stake, I'm satisfied with the outcome.
The biggest annoyance?
This.

48.jpg

:hearnoevil: He didn't even move a tile.

And now for the level ups.
Two normal rolls, oh well...

01.jpg

Jaedar - Blodge Guard options abound:
Mighty Blow
Stand Firm
Grab

02.jpg

Hellraiser probably Block/Wrestle

What do you think?

For some reason I wasn't even asked about apoing headsplitter. I mean, I wouldn't have even if it asked, but still.

As for my plays on 2nd half: I can only play the rats like sharks. If I stop trying to score, they stop trying to breathe.

BB1154.jpg

Actually, I really don't want to get back to this fucking game, so I'll just present it to you in a nutshell.

BB1345.jpg

After 15 turns of pushes, having players removed due to KOs and casualties, fumbling the ball, and other uncool procedures, I finally manage to pick it up with a catcher. Next turn two turns I should be able to score.

BB1346.jpg

But then suddenly a rookie thrower dodges out.

BB1347.jpg

Succeeds on two GFIs and knocks down the blodge catcher.

BB1351.jpg

After which another linerat.

BB1352.jpg

Succeeds 2 gfi and picks up the ball in rain.

BB1353.jpg

Throws a perfect launch through a bunch of dudes in rain.

BB1354.jpg

To a grunner that previously dodged out, now catching no problem in rain.

All this with no rerolls.

BB1381.jpg

And obviously MVP goes to useless lino.

BB1381-1.png
