It's time to get this shit going!

Odin Sphere is a side-scrolling action game with RPG elements, featuring a combination of 2D and 3D graphics. The game was designed as a spiritual successor to Atlus' own Princess Crown, and features the same kind of modular animation system, allowing for extremely smooth and varied motion for even the largest characters.

The action gameplay is similar to Princess Crown, but does not limit enemy encounters to one-on-one fights, instead, all fighting happens in real-time as the player progresses through circular areas. Upon defeating enemies, the player is rewarded with items and experience in order to level up the attack strength and magic capabilities of the character. Players can also plant seeds during combat that will grow as they absorb Phozons released by defeated enemies, eventually producing edible fruit. Phozons can also be absorbed by the character to power up their weapon.

The game features 5 distinct playable characters, each with his or her own storyline intertwined into one epic tale loosely based on Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen.

I'm using Pcsx2 rev. 1888 with following options for Gsdx:

Both characters are well animated.
For example, if you leave the controller alone for a while, Alice and Socrates will show some symptoms of boredom:

I admit that this can be a problem, but OS being a game from this genre:

Repetitive? Yes.
Boring? No.

I should start with short description of the game's story (stolen from the official page):

The nation of Valentine was once a grand kingdom with powerful magic. With the power of a magical relic known as the Cauldron, King Valentine subdued the neighboring nations and brought them under his control. His kingdom enjoyed a long period of prosperity... but a sudden disaster destroyed it overnight.

War broke out between the Fairy Kingdom of Ringford and the warrior nation of Ragnanival over ownership of the now-abandoned Cauldron, and control of the wasteland that was once Valentine. With the battle growing fiercer by the day, Demon Lord Odin, King of Ragnanival, sets forth a plan to conquer Ringford and claim the Cauldron once and for all.

Meanwhile, in the neutral realm of Titania, King Edmund had become a puppet king of his court sorcerer Urzur, who schemes to follow a forgotten prophecy and bring about the Armageddon; a prophecy stating that the world will be destroyed in five great disasters, but the survivors will become kings...

As the nations struggle for control, the world steadily slips unknowingly toward its demise, and the prophecies become clear...

Daughter of the Demon Lord Odin, sorcerer king, and a princess of the Kingdom of Ragnanival in the frozen north.
She is a courageous Valkyrie whose name is known and feared on the battlefield, yet her older sister Griselda is (lol was) even more skilled in the ways of war.
Growing up in her sister's shadow has led Gwendolyn to be quiet and reserved, but she will stand up against anyone when necessary.

This game would have been pretty good if the platforming elements weren't mediocre and if the leveling system wasn't slightly retarded. I got as far as the sewer dragon (which isn't very far), then I gave up.
