Did you roll the characters without rerolling? Your cleric got pretty great stats so I be suspicious.

I deliberately min-max, without entirely min-maxing (I could drop int to 3 on most characters for example, I only put wisdom up because of spell resistance). Unlike 3rd edition, where I don't bother, 2nd edition requires good stats (very good) to get any benefit at all (and even use decent stats). You can adjust scores in IWD to just move things up and down as well, without having to bother really.

I'm a bit rusty on 2.0 rulings, but a druid's spell casting ability is dependant on wisdom, why 18 to charisma and only 14 to wisdom? Or did you plan to dual class him to Bard (for the eye lasers)?

Party leader. The druid is there for entangle (an immensely useful spell) at low levels and later abusing wild shaping at high levels. Mostly she's actually just a fighter who casts spells.

Ah so you didn't plan it as a major spell caster? Think about maybe using a multi-class with Ranger or Fighter then? Or even a Dual-Class for some of the benefits ( I think a low level fighter/ranger dualled to Druid retains the ability to use heavier armour and you would get more weapon proficiency points).

I can't remember if 2.0 druids were limited to leather armor or not..

She was already a multi-class fighter/druid, running around in full plate mail and using a scimitar. Utility spells like bless are very handy and free up the cleric to focus entirely on healing.

As I said though, the real goal was to get the cheesy wildshaping (which can be used for free healing whoop) and use of entangle. It seemed a natural choice for party leader as Druids require Charisma anyway (can't remember why now, but they do).

Yeah that's what was confusing me - perhaps wildshape and all that... otherwise it seems like a roleplaying/flavor thing. Druid's would need charisma being spiritual leaders and all...

There's something oddly suspicious about people who use female characters as their main.

I think its oddly suspicious that men want to play a game with a male character who they mostly see in "gazing down at his butt" view.

Female avatars are like a cyber-harem.

"Dance for me! Fight for me! Die for me!"

And I like to dress them up and watch them walk around all slinky.
Female butt-wiggles rule.

Playing games with all-female parties is like watching softcore lesbian porn.

Druids in IWD have some pretty nifty spells. I used mine as a secondary spellcaster, and as a backup warrior.

I never found any use for wild shape. It always seemed to weaken my druids.

I remember my olde IWD party.

I had two gnome illusionist/thieves. One specialized in finding traps, one in disarming them. One did lockpicking and the other tried for some stealth that I never used.
Mostly they spammed web and stinking cloud then used shortbows.

There was a fighter, who did most of the work.

I had a ranger/cleric. Because I wanted dual wielding and some healing/curing/etc. And I thought a wildernessy character made sense for the setting.

That's 4 characters.

What were the other 2?

I think one was a druid because I wanted to use Call Lightning, thinking there would be tons of outdoor fights. This one was multi-classed as a fighter. (Not "dual-classed", as it was put in the old AD&D terminology.)

I am pretty sure I made the last one a cleric, because I wanted to be all "march march march let's heal up and keep fighting instead of exploiting the fact that time means nothing so we can just rest and be fresh again ridiculously often."

2 pure ones and 4 multi-classed.

The endgame fight was like "1 guy run around being chased while everyone else uses magic arrows."

easy

I replayed with 3 fighters, a mage, a cleric, and a rogue. This was way easier.
Everything got done by an expert. Done right.

interesting that this thread gets necro'd on the very day I re-installed the game, ho hooo.

Ironman bard solo run it is!

edit: just tried it - got to level 4 in town before heading off to the cave (before even talking to Hrothgar), ended up being taken down to 1hp by the wolves (goblins had me down to 20 hp before i left town) and when I tried to rest, 5 orcs spawned. killed 2 before the other 3 managed a high enough roll to hit me and kill me.

;(
