I love the boss' 1st form, it's so :obviously: and :smug:

4393.jpg

4276.jpg

And his/her?/its final form is even more awesome. Compare that with FF13, where (spoilers for those who care) the final boss is... A giant sword. Yep, as retarded as it sounds. :rage:
Unfortunately, this means that the lp has come to an end

Btw, bump!!!

I've been reading through this for the past few days (on a whim at first, and just in time for the conclusion, it seems), and I must say that it was not a waste of time. The game might actually be worth playing at some point in the future, after I forget most of it. Nice work on this. I think I should read LPs more often.

And a bump, I guess.

Can't beleive you beat the final boss with a party full of the worst combat class. :decline:

Congratulations for finishing the game though!

Part 45: Epilogue

In which this LP comes to an end.

7104.jpg

So yeah, our brave heroes of light have won the final battle against the Dark Lord Chaos!

4436.jpg

Yay!

6897.jpg

:smug:

6898.jpg
6899.jpg

Yeah, yeah, the usual stuff.
SUDDENLY

6900.jpg

THE STAR CHAMBER STARTS SHAKING LIKE CRAZY

6901.jpg

THE SHAKING GOES ON AND THE SCREEN STARTS FLASHING WHITE

6902.jpg

So we've gotta run to the exit as fast as we can.

6903.jpg

Once we've reached it, a brieft cutscene follows.

6904.jpg
6905.jpg

We see our pet dragon descending to the Star Chamber entrance. Apparently, Rolan is riding it.

6906.jpg

First we're given some time for party banter, however.

7102.jpg

It looks like all our heroes have grown more, uhm, mature and dedicated and stuffies.

6907.jpg
6908.jpg

Change the world? My, you've become quite idealistic, our oh so cynical BRO.
SMA shares her wisdom with us, too:

6909.jpg
6910.jpg

True BROs totally don't abandon their SISes in cold blood, I guess that's what SMA -- who was always left behind in the first part of the game -- is trying to say. :salute:
Codexer still can't believe he's a hero now:

6911.jpg

You mean, every codexer in the world, right?
And Volly the pretty princess is being her usual cute and pretty princessey self:

6912.jpg
6913.jpg

Except she's grown much friendlier and a bit less selfish compared to the way she was in beginning of the game.

7108.jpg

The party banter done, we mount the dragon:

6914.jpg
6915.jpg

And up we fly!

6916.jpg

We see the Schwarzwelt disappear:

6917.jpg
6918.jpg

And then the dragon lands on the whale Cetus' back:

6919.jpg

:salute:

6920.jpg

Yup, it's teamwork that got us through.
SMA is worried, though:

6921.jpg

But BRO says it's no big deal:

6922.jpg

As does Volly:

6923.jpg

Anyone, you say?

6924.jpg

But BRO's got an objection:

6925.jpg

And Rolan has the solution:

6926.jpg
6927.jpg

Our heroes are a bit surprised at first but then agree with Rolan:

6928.jpg
6929.jpg

And then a long ending cutscene -- in which we revisit all the world's nations we've saved from the dark -- ensues! First we fly to Guera...

6930.jpg
6931.jpg

6932.jpg
6933.jpg

...to meet our pal Krinjh and his girlfriend Ariadne:

6934.jpg
6935.jpg

But Codexer looks, uhm, upset for some reason:

6936.jpg
6937.jpg

He stomps his feet on the ground and exclaims:

6938.jpg
6939.jpg

And then he shouts:

6940.jpg

Awww. With that, he runs away. So our Codexer has fallen for Krinjh's loli princess, eh?
SMA's surprised and BRO facepalms:

6941.jpg
6942.jpg

And Volly reassures Krinjh and Ariadne:

6943.jpg

Next stop: Liberte!

6944.jpg
6945.jpg

Pione and Lilibelle greet us here:

6946.jpg
6947.jpg

BRO recalls Volly's treasure-hunting spree:

6948.jpg

6949.jpg

It looks like Volly's a bit ashamed of her past childish behaviour.
And SMA makes fun of BRO a little:

6950.jpg

Yeah, that was funny. :P

6951.jpg

Is that right, BRO?

6952.jpg

And our next stop is: Arbor!

6953.jpg
6954.jpg

The Fairy Queen and Torte welcome us:

6955.jpg
6956.jpg

They want to make Arbor more, uhm, welcoming to the outside world:

6957.jpg
6958.jpg

Truth be told, I liked Torte better back when he was a cute mouse. :?

6959.jpg

Don't you?

6960.jpg
6961.jpg

In other words, :blah: :blah:
Next stop: Urbeth!

6962.jpg
6963.jpg

Thauzand, his daughter Elith, and the other merchant lords are here.

6964.jpg
6965.jpg

BRO tries asking Thauzand about something:

6966.jpg

But Thauzand stops the bullshits and starts the truths:

6967.jpg

:smug:

6968.jpg

6969.jpg
6970.jpg

Yay for making even more money!

6971.jpg

And finally the chorus:

6972.jpg

:salute:
Next stop: Invidia!

6973.jpg
6974.jpg

It's Master Chief and Rekoteh!

6975.jpg
6976.jpg

Save the world, yay!

6977.jpg

:incline:

6978.jpg

:decline:

6979.jpg
6980.jpg

Rekoteh chimes in:

6981.jpg

And BRO replies:

6982.jpg

Hmmm, an anti-elitist, multikult, and pro-teamwork game? On the Codex!?

6983.jpg
6984.jpg

Yay! Next stop: Spelvia, the floating city.

6985.jpg
6986.jpg

Time for a little chat with Rolan the failed hero.

6987.jpg

Hi, Rolan!

6988.jpg
6989.jpg

So you, uhm, live with the dragon?

6990.jpg
6991.jpg

Hell yeah!

6992.jpg
6993.jpg

6994.jpg
6995.jpg

6996.jpg
6997.jpg

See ya, Rolan! :salute:
Now only Horne, our home town, is left to visit!

6998.jpg
6999.jpg

King Horne, Volly's father, is here to welcome us:

7000.jpg

"Protectors of my princess", lol.

7001.jpg

:salute:

7002.jpg

BRO facepalms again:

7003.jpg

Objection!

7004.jpg

:P

7005.jpg

:salute:

7006.jpg
7007.jpg

Yeah, Volly sure could use those decorum and etiquette classes.
Suddenly, a dragon shout is heard:

7008.jpg

7009.jpg
7010.jpg

Volly runs up to us:

7011.jpg
7012.jpg

King Horne (literally) jumps off his throne:

7013.jpg

And SMA starts talking about duty, like always:

7014.jpg

But Lady Volly is bored:

7015.jpg

Now that's the pretty princess we know and love!

King Horne is p. butthurt and starts jumping again:

7016.jpg

Volly and BRO turn to SMA:

7017.jpg
7018.jpg

And Codexer, too:

7019.jpg

SMA thinks for a bit and then, of course, joins Codexer, BRO and Volly:

7020.jpg
7021.jpg

King Horne is so jumpy:

7022.jpg

But SMA tries to calm him down:

7023.jpg

And it all concludes, of course, with a chorus:

7024.jpg

This is our Playground indeed.
And the heroes run out of the throne room:

7025.jpg

And the end credits kick in!
All the characters take a bow.

7026.jpg

First our Codexer walks in:

7027.jpg

7028.jpg

And then BRO:

7029.jpg

7030.jpg

And SMA:

7031.jpg

7032.jpg

And the pretty princess Volly:

7033.jpg

7034.jpg

And Volly's big sister with King Horne:

7035.jpg

And Codexer's mother Kuore with Ankhel the parrot:

7036.jpg

And Louhi, the Witch of the North:

7037.jpg

And then all the crowns are shown.

7109.jpg

First Codexer the Wayfarer:

7038.jpg

Then BRO the Black Mage:

7039.jpg

SMA the White Mage:

7040.jpg

Volly the Bandit:

7041.jpg

Then Krinjh and Ariadne appear:

7042.jpg

And King Guera:

7043.jpg

And Codexer the Bard:

7044.jpg

BRO the Merchant:

7045.jpg

7046.jpg

SMA the :obviously: Salve-maker:

7047.jpg

7048.jpg

Volly the Elementalist:

7049.jpg

Pione the artist and Lilibelle the fairy:

7050.jpg

Captain Drake and a pirate from his freedom-lovin' crew:

7051.jpg

And Codexer the Ranger:

7052.jpg

7053.jpg

BRO the Fighter:

7054.jpg

7055.jpg

SMA the Scholar:

7056.jpg

Volly the Party Host:

7057.jpg

7058.jpg

Thauzand the merchant lord walks in:

7059.jpg

As well as Trylion, Bylion, and Mylion:

7060.jpg

The evil sorcerer and Black Cat:

7061.jpg

7062.jpg

SMA the Hero:

7063.jpg

BRO (?) the Spell Fencer:

7064.jpg

SMA the Dancer:

7065.jpg

7066.jpg

Volly the Alchemist:

7067.jpg

7068.jpg

Torte and Queen Arbor:

Codexer the Monk:

SMA and BRO the Storytellers:

Codexer the dawg and Volly the cute white cat:

7090.jpg

BRO the rooster and SMA the bunny:

7091.jpg

7092.jpg

Cetus the sacred fairy whale:

7093.jpg

And finally, Adventurer and the Faithful Fox:

7094.jpg

7105.jpg

:salute:

7095.jpg

7096.jpg
7097.jpg

7098.jpg

Back at the title screen, we're given the option to "Continue the story".

7099.jpg

Once we've chosen it, a fairy tale cartoonish scene begins. Some of the locations and characters appear one by one, as well as stuff like the 100-floor tower, the whale and the dragon:

7100.jpg

And we find ourselves back in Horne, in case we want to explore the world some more and maybe do the bonus thingies or find more secrets:

7101.jpg

Bonus image: Volly tenderly holding BRO the rooster!

7107.jpg

And this LP ends here, yay! Truth be told, back when I started it, I was convinced it'd never be concluded. But the game turned out to be p. good. Not sure if :incline: of Enix-Square... :?

7103.jpg

In any case, thanks for your attention, and love, and bumps, everyone! Even those who were silently following my LP, ashamed to comment on this lolifaggotry, or those who abandoned it at some point, even you -- you bastards, you! -- have my thanks!
Surprisingly enough, it's been a few months of good fun! :salute: Take care, yay!

Now I must gather enough strength to go through it myself. Thank you Bee from bringing this gem to light. I wouldn't even imagine that Square-Enix still can into good game design. :salute:

  And so, it is done. Well done Bee! Truly an incredible game (and lp), I'm still surprised that Enix-square made this game. The question is: What now? Will you dedicate all of your attention to Ukrul? Will you lp another rpg from the DS like The Dark Spire, Etrian Oddyssey or even Radiant Historia (a recent, awesome rpg for the DS that even has sort of choices and consequences)?

I'm going to focus on Uukrul for now, right until I either finish it (lol) or fail miserably. I don't have the time for two concurrent LPs anymore. After that -- i.e., hopefully this autumn -- I think I'm going to make a Dark Spire LP (if no one beats me to it). So stay tuned.
As for Radiant Historia, I've been playing it for some time, and even though it's good for what it is, it's pretty bland imho despite the C&C. At least it hasn't really drawn me in so far.

Chaos, as you surely know, is the infinite sea of shapeless potentiality which was there in the beginning, before time and space -- and Order in general -- kicked in. That's why, in this game, Chaos has to shatter time and space to reveal his true form. In alchemy, from what I've gathered, Chaos is usually identifies with water element, and that's why the world of darkness is placed underwater. Even though opposed to Order, Chaos of course remains within the very essence of it, corrupting it -- and the world -- from within. That's why demons, as beings of chaos, are naturally sided with him in his effort to harm the reality of order, disrupting the balance of the universe. Chaos, however, isn't simply a dis-order, it is a different principle than order, a separate element; and as a principle and an entity, it can be challenged -- and turned into a boss fight, of course. One coud say that, in this game, we aren't simply fighting chaos as a metaphor, we're fighting the Chaos route itself. As for why the Dark Lord Chaos is depicted with a clock, well, maybe that's because -- as the enemy of true, i.e., free and rational, order -- he can be regarded as allied with determinism and, say, the Laplace demon?

Not sure what else to have that others haven't said already. Fantastic LP, both happy and disappointed to see it completed. You are a true Bro of the Highest Caliber, especially for crawling through all of those bonus towers.
