Long awaited update time!
Last update ended just before the battle phase, so we'll skip straight to that.
We had to pull out of here to guard against Leonia again. No big deal though, we have plenty of mana.
I would have preferred if Almekia invaded here instead so we could retreat from them and let them steal the spot from Caerleon.
Anyways, they're a bit underequipped, but Dinadan is with them, and what monsters they do have are pretty strong ones.
We've fought here before, but this time we're on defense, so we can use the narrow pass to our advantage.
Which we'll need to because this is some 3v2 bullshit against us. Ira's team is strong as fuck at least, but I actually sent Gallo down ehre to rectuit a hydra, so he's not even fully stocked.
Usual enemy tactic of trying to bait us with a centaur backfires this time, since our Fenrir can bash the fuck out of him and run away.
I mean, he's not as strong as a dragon or anything, but he can land the hit reliably and get away.
Going to line up where Gallo and the dragon are, becayse the enemy only has 2 hexes of plains to stand next to them on.
I could have moved Iria up front there to tank some shit, but...
She's got free ranged attacks anyways.
She lands a solid hit on the centaur, bringing it quite low.
Our innane minions will be useful guarding our flank here, since they can move over the water easily.
That 3 range is so much nicer.
Though I was hoping for a bit more damage than that honestly.
Hah, the lack of space lured Merriot into a retarded position. We'll beat the shit out of her on our turn.
Gallo still making big slow dragons look bad.
Andhaira gets in a fight with an angel again.
But Islam has all the answers, and rape is avoided due to white alignment.
Figured this was coming. Not much we can do though.
Fortunately we're not too vulnerable to it. Our black units are either too far to get hit or have hp to spare.
And lots of our guys are white aligned or tanky as fuck. No ghouls to pick on.
Man that thing has been kick a lot of ass for them this game. Usually mermen get fucked early on and never accompish anything.
Gallo has no time for freaky fish guys however.
But he is getting dangerously low. Especially given our lack of healers.
This could be bad.
Better than if it had hit Gallo I suppose.
But still pretty bad.
Ugh, and they manage to throw protect on Merriot before we get to attack her.
And Gallo gets pegged by the centaur too.
Well, time to take out the forces of wincest.
Protect doesn't do much when the attack is this overwhelming.
defjam continues his unstoppable
And we make more inane potshots.
That dragon being on the mountain is negating our terrain advantage. Especially since we just had to fire through our own guy to hit that dragon.
It'll be worth it though. Thanks to her level up, Iria can now cast Holy Word just like Dinadan.
Gotta love that sweet sweet range.
We could have healed Gallo instead, but that seems like a losing proposition, he took way more damage than we can heal in one turn, and we don't really have anyone who can replace his position.
Merriot is brought dangerously low.
But most of this team is still doing fairly well.
I make a major sacrifice of hp here by breathing over 2 of our own troops to get to Merriot.
And the bitch doesn't even die! Stupid protect.
Iria has lots of hp left though, and defjam didn't get hurt too much.
Jarlfrank lands the killing breath weapon.
Strategic retreat to your one available castle, right...
Alas, low level knights don't rake in massive xp bonuses.
But it's enough for a low level unit to grow a bit.
Good, this'll help keep Gallo safe.
This could have been pretty bad, but it didn't land the petrification.
I really want to finish this bastard off.
But I'm not going to try banking Gallo on it when the thing has +25% evade. Time to withdraw.
Defjam is in rather rough shape here, but they can't bring anyone in to hit him, because of the zone of control and the terrain.
Jarlfrank takes some lumps though.
And this bastard could actuall reach defjam, which would be bad if he got a crit...
But the AI is afraid of the counter and goes after a weaker but healthier target instead.
More Venom for poor defjam.
And this little fucker...
Runs the fuck away. Asshole.
Defjam brings the dumbass lizard to his knees.
And golgepapaz finishes the job.
More small incline.
But we need to bail. It's ok though, they can't recover from even losses that small very easily.
We'll be back.
We wanted to invade there.
Esgares fails it's stupid 2 man invasion. Archaeon gives his life in defense of the faggy mage country. Goodbye, betrayer.
Counter invasion!
We only have 2 guys here too...
But they got 1 guy with no monsters.
I milk some xp by casting spells as we approach.
But he retreats soon enough and we get our freebie bonus xp.
spekkio gets a little closer, but has a long way to go. Though once he hits 10 he'll pick up speed real fast.
Wow, he might get upgraded soon.
And of course the djinn continue to gain influence.
Quest time!
Drunk Man: Aren't you a Rune Knight?
Daffy reluctantly confirmed the question.
Drunk Man: I knew it! I thought so!
Daffy followed the drunk man.
Drunk Man: Eat this!
The drunk man punched Knight, but his blow was weak.
Drunk Man: What?!
Daffy fought back! The drunk man was kicked in the groin.
Drunk Man: Ugh! I'm dying!
The drunk man lay squirming on the floor.
Drunk Man: Please forgive me! I'll give this to you!
Drunk Man: You'll pay for this!
The guy walked away at a speed not likely for a drunk.
Daffy obtained "IcyFogRobe".
Woot! Kicking drunk guys in the balls and stealing their clothes! Rune Knights are the best heroes EVAR.
Anyways, Caerleon has barely anything left in their isolated castle after fighting Esgares last turn.
They're better off in their original territory, but still pretty fucked.
In the combat phase, we can see they bought some units for their stranded guys. Probably more than they should have been able to afford in fact. But whatever.
Time for more invasions! This time against someone with some backbone.
Woooooow! Look at that mask! So you're the famous Cador. I have been looking forward to meeting you.
What?
I've heard about that awesome skull mask and that huge axe and I wanted it for myself. Now, all I have to do is to kick your butt and take it from you.
You clown! Try and take it if you can.
You know how Caerleon has Dinadan to kick ass in melee for them?
Well Esgares has this guy (actually Esgares has a fuckton of high level knights, but Cador takes the cake.)
Certified mysterious badass. Well, that much should have been obvious from the intro.
He has some tough monsters with him too. You do not want to fuck with this thing.
This could be problematic as well.
Gish on the other hand, is probably the shittiest mage in the game at his level. Terrible stats all around.
The enemy employs their usual tactic of being inane dicks.
We employ our usual strategy of being abusive overpowered bastards.
A pity his movement was too short to get into firing range.
Maybe next turn. With this formation we should have a big advantage, even against their powerful troops and casters.
Lets do this shit!
Oh that is ballsy, going right for Dryst.
Balls cannot overcome the power of innanity however!
Well ok it can.
And did, judging by the damage they each took here.
Luckily for us, the tiamat is too slow to get to Dryst. It would have hit him fucking hard, thats for sure.
Instead they send a faggy vampire (lord) after him.
Vampires in Forsena don't know any kungfu though.
They just headbutt things. Not sure if incline.
Critical hit from the retardo attack!
Dryst starting to get a bit worn down now.
And the flight advantage means he can't even hit back for the same kind of damage.
Rather than scrap in melee some more or waste a ton of MP trying to curse a guy with heavy black resist, we use Dryst's other offensive option.
Hadouken!
Not bad.
Our Demon fires off a Curse though.
Manages a bit better, probably due to much high INT.
Our golem lands some beatdown as well.
Azira gets sent into the fray too.
Cador isn't the only one with balls.
Though he seems to be the only one that is armored as fuck.
Also, thats a bitchin' axe.
Well, Azira came off worse from that fight, but the xp was worth it.
Enemy turn. Let the inane poking at our weaker units begin.
I left lightbane up front here precisely to lure attacks so he could use hit and away when he gets low and let another front liner replace him seamlessly. All according to plan.
FUCK OFF.
Maybe this will help convey the message?
You know, I think these are pretty much my favourite 3d dragons in a video game. Considering how simply textured and blocky they are (and the faggy colour) they look really really good. Proportions and posture and everything are just right.
Breath weapons could stand to look better though.
Wrong place to stand, Emo Knight.
Him and soon to be what army?
Raking in the xp from pure damage without even getting many kills. Powered breath weapons are scary.
I kind of wanted to let Azira get the last blow to get him to level 10, but we don't have Halo, and his turn would come after Cador's anyways, and I don't want this fucker retreating.
So we're going to employ a more certain method.
Also shinier.
Indeed. Except the part where I scoured 400 screenshots down to 152. That part sucks.
Was kinda hoping for 2 levels there. Oh well.
Oh fucking hell yes!
Double plus fucking awesome.
And yet more incline. Though we don't need many more ponies, a level 6 one is a nice find.
Gnidrologist wipes out their little dog too for some more incline.
I debated trying to finish off the vampire lord (which was pretty fucked up) for the sick xp we'd get, but decided against it. 20 levels is more important than ~3. Even if it is on a shitty unit type.
Speaking of shitty unit types, Comte is getting close to pink fagdom himself.
And Azira keeps working for that promotion.
Won't be too long now.
And yet more xp after they all run away.
And more assorted incline.
Tons of minor level ups here.
Some of which got cut out by bad screens. But suffice to say, we're going to have a lot of level 10+ codexers a few updates from now if things keep going this well.
And maybe a level 20 codexer too.
More fights this turn, but I'll end the update here.
Notes on the captured monsters: Tiamat is going to Edward. Mostly because in the omitted update that unhappened, he perfermored heroically and survived an attack at1 hp, scrapping like a crazy bastard in his very first battle. Not sure who I'm going to name the Vampire Lord. Perhaps Racofer in honour of the
this battle brought to our overall army strength. No idea for the pony. I'll have to scan the codex for more pony lovers.
