I haven't played Grimrock 2 just yet, but I can pretty much guarantee its dungeon design won't be as simplistic and linear as was the case in MMX, unless there's been a big change since the original Grimrock. I stopped playing MMX about halfway through when I realized that, no, in fact it wasn't just the intro dungeon that was linear and simplistic... it was all of them.

I don't give a damn if some of the original Might & Magic games were like that, either. That's one nostalgia trip I don't care to buy a vacation package for.

So far, the only negative thing I have to say about this in regards to the original is that I kinda miss having to manage bottles for potions.

Outdoor areas also don't look as good as dungeons, but that's probably to be expected.

I too miss bottle juggling. Which is odd they removed it considering spell click-juggling still seems to be in?

Played for a bit, I'd say it's better than its predecessor.
I enjoy the outdoors - they provide much needed variety over sitting in dungeons all the time and offer a sane compromise between feeling like an open world and restricting the player from rushing into too difficult areas.
They spiced up combat a bit, some creatures will give you trouble even if you're a master of 2x2 square dancing. Ranged classes are a little bit more useful now, but still feel kinda redundant.
About the graphics - it looks way better than MMX and has none of its performance issues.
Lack of randomized loot and forced real time combat continue to be the main disadvantages of this series in my opinion.

Had to stop torrenting this when I found out dancing around enemies was still a thing.

I was kinda hoping they would have gotten enough shit for it the first time around and had changed it.

Want randomized loot? Go make own dungeon while being drunk. Problem solved.
