Anyone ever play it? Does it seem worth it to try the game out?

It was good when it was released, but really didn't age gracefully. (Re)playing UFO: Enemy unknown is superior in all respects.

Oh, wait, Nemesis.
Nemesis was sort-of decent. The simultaneous turns worked ok, but there's not really a playerbase to support it anymore. The sides were also really poorly balanced back when I played. I'm not sure if they ever fixed that. Frozen Synapse has a bigger player base and is very similar to LSN. If you don't like FS, you're probably not going to like LSN either.
