will try kraszewski's krzyżacy 1410. apparently sienkiewicz was one of the reviewers and this was the main 'inspiration' he had. kraszewski's book sold like shit because it's more dry and attempts to understand the position of the knights teutonic, which sienkiewicz's doesn't even bother with.
