We should move the centipede corpses to the chokepoint and use their highly superior weaponry as makeshift turrets, sitting on their bloated mechanoid bodies. (or can you at least loot the weapons?)
We should move the centipede corpses to the chokepoint and use their highly superior weaponry as makeshift turrets, sitting on their bloated mechanoid bodies.
Centipede bodies are looking atrocious. Which means that colonists get a mood penalty while standing nearby. Worst thing that could happen to your colonists during combat is a mental breakdown, so it's better not to drag centipedes to the chokepoint.
We need to fortify this place for sure. Turrets, sandbags, some traps maybe. But Hivemind decided it's not a priority, so nothing I can do.
Inferno cannon cannot be looted. I'm not sure what happened to minigun, though. When second centipede died, the minigun was there with smth like 28/100 condition. I moved the screen to check on something else, and when I looked back - it was gone.
Probably burned away. Or maybe Nelson's team picked it up.
Mm? Oh, this? I thought you feel lonely here at nights, so I found you a roommate. You don't want her to sleep on the flo-- err, ground, do you?
Roommate?
It's time for you to understand, Ryan. This Kolony exists to make you feel happy and comfortable. This is not what I planned initially, but this is how it turned to be.
*pssshhh* Grimwulf? Is it ready yet?
*psshh* It's not fucking IKEA, Azira. I'm building a bed from granite blocks. Bed from GRANITE BLOCKS!
I'm just asking. Sheesh.
Sorry, darling. You'll have to chill here a while longer. But hey, at least you get to enjoy the weather!
*gasps and coughs* Where is Dreaad?
A question I've been asking myself since the battle started. DREAAD!
Here with Kalin!
You're wasting a lot of good medicine, boyo. Azira would apply magic socks instead.
Socks? Why?
Because they work. Unlike Azira himself.
Grimwulf! These pirates had a lot of food on them.
How's that bed doing?
Almost done. Show the lady to her new apartment, will you?
On my way.
Where are you taking me?
Shh.
Don't worry, sweetheart. You will like it here. Everyone does.
Here we are.
Doctor Azira! Are you going to torture another young lady to death?
Be quiet, Ryan. I need to focus.
Torture to death? Oh, gawd.
He's joking. Now, this might hurt just a little...
One hour later.
Shiiieeet. The screams from the prison make me shiver.
We call it guest room, Dreaad. Not prison.
You sure have a cozy place here. Like some... sorta... weird dacha retreat.
Glorious, isn't it? Breathtaking. What do you think about locals?
Let's see. Azira told me he was the one who killed those mecha monsters I saw. And that's good. But he also looks like an alcoholic, I don't like them.
Awright, glad you two get along. What about Kalin?
That Kalin fellow seems a bit wimpy, got wrecked in seconds. Also, he looks like shit.
As for you, Grimwulf... Well, I don't have an opinion about you. Yet.
Nobody does. You'll fit right in.
A terrible Beast was about to destroy the Kolony.
Fortunately, he never found a way around Prosperwall.
Humanity is saved!
Later that day.
WOOOO HOOOOO
Huh? Azira? HEY, where did you get the spirits?!
EVERYBODY PAAAHHHTYYY!!!!
Why the hell not? Dreaad, ever tried testicle shashlik? It's gorgeous. Lemme bring you some.
Tell us about yourself, Dreaad.
What do you want to know?
Everything! Starting from childhood.
I was born in a typical slav world, had an ordinary slav childhood.
Then I grew up and moved to a better place. People often say that I'm too nice for my own good.
I believe in Kommunism! Totally not because I'm easily brainwashed.
I prefer squatting to drinking. And so should you, Azira.
I was squatting a lot at your age. *hic*
Squatting makes you healthy.
That's it, more or less. Err, Grimwulf?
Mm? Sorry. I was thinking about... something.
Nevermind.
By the way, testicle shashlik is pure shit. It's the worst thing I ever tasted. And I had to eat a LOT of horrible things back in my childhood.
As if I care.
Being a psycho, Grimwulf doesn't care about insults or other people's opinions. Being slighted doesn't affect him one bit.
So what's the deal between you and those pirates?
It's a long story. Let's say I, uh, might have offered that lass, Ian, a shelter. At my place. She was wounded and needed to recover and hide somewhere - I was just trying to be nice. Then one thing led to another, she was sort of homeless, so I offered her to stay for a while. Then she asked if her friends can stay too. I wanted to object, but it wouldn't be polite. When Ian started to sexually harass me, I said she can live at my place forever, if she lets me go. Ian refused. She said she needs me. So I, uh, ran away.
You are a nice person, Dreaad.
*chuckles* That was a gud party, men.
I had a blast. Although, it feels like we forgot to invite someone. Hmm... What was his name...
Must... build... snowman.
KALIN! That's right!
Go away, Grimwulf.
Nu. If you're gonna build a snowman, I will build one of my own. Bigger. Better. Faster.
Anyway, aren't you supposed to stay in bed?
Snowmen first.
Right, right. If only you wasn't good-for-nothing slow-ass lazy bastard. There. That's how you make snowmen. So long!
Fuck you.
*psshhh* Men, I'll go take a nap. It was a difficult day.
*psshhh* Wait! Where do I sleep?
Grhmrhgm.
*psshhh* Not the barracks, Grim. Honestly, enough is enough.
Kitchen is warm and cozy. And smells of roasted dog testicles.
Just like home.
*psh psh* I don't... feel so well.
*pshh* Then get your ass back to bed. I'll see you in a moment.
Snowman. I have failed you.
I hope it's not an infection. Will need a lot of meds for it. And we only have...
... Fuck.
A bit later.
Kalin! How ya doin', bruh?
What is wrong with me? The pain...
Hrm. Let me speak from my heart.
It's an infection, isn't it?
It's nothing serious, really.
As long as we have antibiotics. We have plenty, right? Right?
What a day.
I'm glad we have Dreaad. He'll make a better warden and doctor than me.
It's not like I'm going to abandon my medical practice. But I'll sure have more free time from now on!
The prisoner situation buggers me, though. Too many mouths to feed. What should I do? Gods of Space, if you even exist, give me a sign.
Hmm? What's that?
... Praise the Gods.
*mumbles* Unless it's more testicles. In which case fuck the Gods.
*weeps tears of joy*
Men. MEN!!! THE GODS HAVE SPOKEN!
You crazy fuckers, why can't you let me sleep?
No time for that, Kalin. Eat it.
BLEGH!!! Testicles! We still have venison shashlik left, what the fuck!
Shhh. It's time to make an important decision. About the prisoners.
What about them?
That Ian lady? No chance she will ever join us, Grim. No chance at all.
The bitch is crazy. Why waste our time and food on her?
Maybe someone will buy or pay ransom for her.
Might take a fuckton of time before that happens.
Meanwhile, we can keep trying to recruit her. I mean, who knows?
I've heard of traders who only need... specific parts of the merchandise. If you know what I mean.
In order to harvest organs we need to use at least some kind of medicine as anesthetic. Hell, at least herbs.
Yeah, we are not doing so well in that regard. Maybe keep her around until we get some meds to spare?
How about releasing her in order to improve relations?
With space pirates? GAHAHAH, no. It doesn't work like that.
Euthanize or execute? But why? We don't even need emergency meat at that point.
So what do we do about Ian?
What do we do about Ian?
1. Keep her around for the time being and give her food. Try to recruit, hoping for a miracle to happen.
2. Keep her around for now, but don't waste food on her. If she dies of starvation, so be it.
3. Release her.
4. Euthanize.
5. Execute.
6. *your own option*
Also, do we really NEED Ryan at this point?
Well. Dreaad is a very social person. I'm sure he won't have any troubles recruiting Ryan.
I mean, Dreaad has more or less the same skillset as Ryan.
Let's just vote for it already AND GET SOME FUCKING SLEEP, fuck!
What do we do about Ryan?
1. Recruit him in our ranks.
2. Keep him around for selling / harvesting organs / emergency meat, but not for recruiting. Feed him only when absolutely necessary.
3. Release him.
4. Euthanize.
5. Execute.
6. *your own option*
As a new warden of the Kolony, Dreaad can ignore voting results and make his own decisions about prisoners if he wants to. If the Kolony decides to execute the prisoner, Dreaad can disobey and release him instead, and vice versa.
Beware conflicts with other kolonists, tho.
Grim?
I need some time to think about it, men. Gotta appreciate the bright nights of Winter.
Recruit him~ I mean, we invest a fuckload onto his 3flame ass. Why would we throw all that away now? And this psychotic band need more social members to keep the peace or somebody gonna go Hulk.
Not pretty, that~
And for Ryan, while the interest in research is tempting, that gives you two non-violent characters that aren't good for much. Releasing him would boost relations with the space faction, but I've no idea how that impacts the game itself as they aren't listed in the faction window. Leaning towards releasing Ryan and keeping Ian around to recruit if she has decent skills, or spare parts should the need arise before she accepts.
Though it's also a bit tempting to have Dreaad recruit Ryan and then execute Dreaad.
That said, even with low skill, you could always just throw them on a stonecutter's bench and crank out more blocks, even if they'll be incredibly slow at it. Or have them help build floors/walls when large scale construction starts. The social specialist in my current game ended up breaking 14 construction despite having no interest in it. His skillset was largely redundant, so I just enabled construction on him and let'em go to town smoothing the floor. Mining's another decent option for this.
How is he adapting to the roughly 3.4k years of history he missed in his nap? I am amazed he can even understand you guys then again that empath ability must come in handy at some point.
I had a double-flame Shooting lvl 16 sniper repeatedly missing targets which was infuriating as fuck. Since I based a team around 2 high-level snipers, plus 2 guys with energy weapons and a bunch of support turrets, I basically quit the game until they rebalance that shit. Getting bum-rushed by a bunch of peasants wielding clubs that you should be able to cut down long before they get anywhere near your position is beyond frustrating for me.
Nice skillset, but abrasive. We could try to go for it if we had at least 18-20 Social skill on somebody. With 13/14 we have on Dreaad/Ryan, our chances are sad.
Releasing him would boost relations with the space faction, but I've no idea how that impacts the game itself as they aren't listed in the faction window.
Ryan can become the researcher of the Kolony. And Dreaad can do cleaning, among other things. Because Azira and Kalin refuse to do cleaning out of principle, and Grimwulf can't be bothered with such meager tasks.

The guy who can't fight, just walks around all day talking to people and shows up at the last moment pretending he is helping. A true space commissar skill set .
Well, since I am against violence, I suggest we exile the crazy woman. She can surely survive the winter with no clothes. We might need the food for someone more useful.
As to Hello Friend, us empaths should stick together. We can take over this colony no problem with our social skills, a good Kommunist Kolony needs visionary leaders! We use the existing division between original 3 colonists to take control of the whole operation MWAHAHAhahahaha....xaxaxaxa....
:russia:
Bit surprised at Ian's name. It's usually a guy's name. Does Rimworld assign names completely at random? Anyway, as the good book says, it is not good for man to be alone. Let the woman live. It's the right thing to do.
Dread doesn't like anybody huh. Don't worry, I'll be your friend! We have so much in common don't kill me please don't kill meI WILL WORK HARDER
Not completely, but some names are weird indeed. Also, trannies.
So far the votes are:
- 3 for recruit Ian (laclongquan, Ashery, Reinhardt)
- 2 for release Ian (Dreaad, hello friend)
- 1 for release Ryan (Ashery)
- 2 for recruit Ryan (Dreaad, hello friend)
As always, I'll give priority to actual Kolonists votes, otherwise we risk overcomplicated debates. But others will be taken into consideration as voices in Grimwulf's head.
What the... Raider bitch shot me up and tried to haul my bleedin' ass to tranny mansion, and now you guys want to be merciful!
I vote execute and keep the body in the freezer, should be useful for backup meat and emergency rec time.
As for Ryan/Dreaad, now that we got extra food from the sky I say use Dreaad to recruit Ryan, they're both better doctors than Azira so maybe they can cure this infection shit.
They can also do womyn tasks like cooking and cleaning, and they might even get some turrets up and running with those brian skillz.
If our resources and food supplies really do start to dwindle further down the line, then we can always kill them later.
They're both some weird pinko liebrul pacifists, so it'd be like clubbing baby seals.
To be fair, Kalin is pretty much dying at this point. We have no meds to cure his infection, and you can't just amputate torso. Well, Azira can, but
Let's hope that random medicine traders will show up soon. Worst case scenario, we put Kalin's funeral to a vote. Grave, sarcophagus, or emergency meat?
Ryan: After wasting so much time and food we need to go throught with our 5 years plan and recruit him.
Ian: Since we now have proper food, I suggest keeping her around while feeding her dogsticles. If we manage to succed at recruiting, her/his/xis womyn skills will lead to quality sammiches in the future. If not, at least we have something to torment Dreead for a while. Not that he tries slacking off!
Kalin: It was inevitable I guess. Azira tried so hard to "accidently" kill him, now he finally succeeded. Try to save him while making fun of him anyway. Otherwise name the snowman in his honor.
His parents knew something was off with him. He is a traitor. A traitor to the slav way of life. The Drizz do Urden of the slavs. Can't trust that one. He deserves that crazy trannie to keep him under control... maybe eventually she will cure him so he starts drowning his problems in potatojuice.
Nice - Rimworld LP.
Any mega-projects planned?
BTW you can put Kalin into cryosleep casket until caravan with meds shows up. Those things in the ruins with centipedes.
wtf why Kalin uses stone club... Plasteel is best material for edged weapons so plasteel knife gonna be best melee weapon for a long time. Just don't try kill fucking bears/deers with it. If you want club/mace get one made from uranium.
Ryan can't fight and have crappy stats, Ian have average stats but take forever to recruit. Maybe use them both for shooting/melee/medicine practice.
Not yet. Hivemind told me to finish town hall, then private houses, then I can (hopefully) get to building a badass fort. If we survive that long, of course.
Due to shortage of materials and capable hands, the progress goes slowly. Thick snow doesn't help either.
Those are ancient cryosleep caskets. If the need arises and Kalin will be on a brink of death, we can use them as a last resort option. I guess. It's his call anyways.
