I've read countless people on steam forums for example, saying they won't buy the game because you can't be a woman/black/whatever.

I won't buy the game if it limits you to one white male protagonist.

How am I going to get my cross dressing inner transvestite on?

I dunno, I like it. Not that it is wymyn that I will play, but additional opening gameplay you will have in the beginning. If it is well set in the story (e.g. peasant girl doing something for the main protagonist in the beginning), then who cares if you play as tits and not dick. That's just an introduction.

Could be fun to allow you to play a woman. Especially if you have to keep your gender secret or run the risk of being accused of witchcraft for having done valorous deeds that would be considered beyond a normal woman's doing (which would lead to a trial and a very high chance of being burned at the stake).

While cool in theory it would probably require extensive rewrites. The money would better be spent elsewhere.

Goddammit I need to stop defending Warhorse.

It's a PR move to try and silence the saner of the tumblr denizens. It obviously won't work on most of them but they can point to that and say "We have a limited budget and at least we tried" when the inevitable barrage of disrcimination accusations comes. You might thing that it is a non issue but it has become a pet project for certain elements of the game journalists to harp on this.
Yes of course, and I don't like that they bother to appease these nobodies.

These people are morons and Vávra shouldn't cater to their kind.

Well sure but the stretch goal could have as well been a prologue with the main character himself.

Oh I agree. But it could make for some very interesting gameplay.

Backed the project. It's one of the most interesting projects I've seen in a very long while: it's extremely ambitious and probably will not hold all its promises, but I absolutely love what I see and hear so far.

The womyn character would be a thief-like character apparently, which does make the most sense actually. Sneaking around is not gender discriminating after all.

First stretch goal is period music and next one is orchestra?
WTF.

Period music is amazing, but it was certainly not performed by orchestras.
It was performed by a couple of people with string instruments, a couple of voices, some flutes and a hurdy gurdy.

Orchestras generally are used to make EPIC GENERIC soundtracks.

The rest of the goals are total crap by the way.
Female character? Who wants to play as a female? Unless they provide you with the option to play as an assasin prostitute or a manipulating witch/alchemist it's pointless. Playing as a female warrior in a "realistic" medieval game and not getting mockery and sexual abuse as a reaction from the male warriors would be retarded.

The "period music" would be used during gameplay, the orchestral tracks are for the cutscenes.
Makes sense.

The female character part would be (AFAIK) an optional introductory short quest-line, the main protagonist is already set.

I'm really excited about this. I just hope they don't go the usual route of "hurr durr, hussites were the good guys and evil catholics hurr". They seem to hint Wenceslaus IV will be a "good king in trouble that the hero must save" figure, kind of like the Lionheart in most Robin Hood stories. Jan Huss will probably appear in this as well, hopefully not as a hero.

They should have made the storyline gender neutral. Of course that doesn't work that well if the ultimate goal in the game is to save the princess from a dragon and then marry her.

Well, if they're gonna be inclusive and what not, as well go all the way.

Medieval setting. Gender neutral.

Yeah, sure.

Well, I guess they could have. Except playing as a female would've been the equivalent of low intelligence in Fallout 2 (with the difference that even a post-apocalyptic retard could do more quests than a woman in the middle ages could).

Yea you surely could do... Instead of combat you could sleep with the enemies.

But somehow I don't think that it'd sit too well with those femtard pussies.

I'm no specialist, but I think we have a very simplistic view of women in the middle ages. I heard this funny story of a ducal couple that cheated on each other but only the woman found out about her husband -- the guy never discovered (or at least never found proof of) what his wife was up to because, by custom, he was forbidden of entering her wing of the castle. No matter what.

I say this because I'd like to play a woman in a game like this if there was some real research behind it. Not only because of how the shit we presume a knight lady would face but also because of all the nuance. That would be much better than a gender neutral and entirely unrealistic story. Then again, nothing against unrealistic, but it would take balls to keep talking about realism and the death of dragons and fae but still resort to such things.

So I hear they're considering reducing the already tiny gameworld size of Kingdom Come because some people on the codex whined about it being a hiking sim.

That's a real shame. The developers should listen to the codex when it comes to RPG mechanics, but not when it comes to open world simulation. Next we'll have markers showing the way to every point of interest, and tutorial NPCs like Baldur's Gate.

Source?
I didn't saw anyone seriously complaining about the size of the thing.

How about a epic story about a wino homophobic peasant learning empathy and then ends up defending gay rights in Medieval Europe.
The final chapter can be him enjoying the sweeping changes to the social fabric of medieval Europe by watching the pope
smile as they add more wood to the fire at his feet. Maybe press X to keep the flames down for a high score and bonus points
for selecting clothes that are fire resistant.
