Homeworld 3 (I know, not an RPG)
Just about the only thing I'd really want to see.
My heart bleeds but I doubt it could gather enough support. Damn.

On the contrary, I think it would get enough support. HW is a very popular franchise. Dont know about their signature superior graphics though, not sure if they could afford them.
Who gives a fuck about the graphics. HW was never about eye candy, use HW1 engine and I'm game.

I'd go with anything suggested by Jullian Gollop. The man has one of the best track records in gaming history (IMO) with titles such as Chaos, Rebelstar Raiders, Laser Squad, X-Com, Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. Reading his interviews now, I'm still pretty sure he's still got what it takes to produce another masterpiece if he was freed from the restraints of publishers.

I would have looked at someone like D W Bradley too, if he hadn't fecked up so badly with Wizards & Warriors and Dungeon Lords.

Erm, many people do? This is not a rpg game, there is no real focus on the plot or characters here. HW is about awesome ships blasting each other to pieces. Am I wrong? You played the game to see how the story develops?

No, I play HW because I like commanding little steel penises and inserting them into other peoples affairs. Shiny graphics are fine and dandy but what HW really needs is visible compartment damage/destruction. Oh yes, a lucky/unlucky shoot penetrates the armor and manages to destroy the bridge hidden deep inside the hull, your cruiser is command-less for a few moments before the axillary bridge takes over. The fight continues. Another shot manages to punch right through the ship leaving a gaping hole where the missile storage was, it critically shortens your ammo supply. I get an erection.

You need another game then, dont remember this being in any HW. Well, you could damage components but it was very limited in scope.

No, HW needs to have those elements. You want pretty explosions in space, go find yourself another game.

Well, this thread will have to be revisited after the W2 insanity is over. With a vote pool.

If Jon Van Caneghem would start a kickstarter for a Might & Magic blobber in the same style as Isles of Terra or World of Xeen (and possibly resurrecting New World Computing), I would pledge even more than for Wasteland 2 right now.

1) Elite sequel or something that takes that Infinity space engine and makes a procedural singleplayer game of awesome from it instead of that mmo that still had news about for ages
2) Grim Fandango 2
3) seconding a good Master of Magic but there's a couple of active clones, perhaps a highly expanded HD version? also I think people are quite jaded after the recent elemental games bullshit
4) Actual Jagged Alliance 3 not made by people who previously did 'germany's next top model' for the wii
5) Preorder bribery for Dark Souls PC port
6) Freespace 3 yase
7) Dungeon Keeper sequel, but again there's that clone being made WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE SHIT
8) New Space Rangers 3 / EVN clone because Space Pirates and Zombies is a pile of shit and if EVN's ships looked just as good it would have no chance
9) Proppa Transport Tycoon sequel

the last two being quite unlikely

after seeing how many people just threw up money for a wasteland sequel thinking it would just be another post apocalyptic rpg to play after glorious fallout 3 from bethesda and not because turn based is sexy(gauging around a third from the recent poll results on stupid features in the WL2 forums) I don't know how much of a market force gamers with higher standards are anymore

I would invest in anything any of the following come up with: Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, Jason Anderson or Paul Reiche/Fred Ford. I'd love to see an original creative IP but would also drop some cash for a Vampire the Masquerade 2, Arcanum 2 or a new Star Control.

1) ToEE 2 (can't believe no one has mentioned this yet)
2) Ultima Underworld III (Paul Neurath and Doug Church and whoever else worked on the originals)
3) Arx Fatalis II (Arkane out from under the iron fist of those Bethfucks)
4) PS:T 2 (in spirit) but turn based.
5) Baldur's Gate III (in spirit) but turned based and with a story for people older than 12.
6) Something like NWN but done by competent devs with a commitment to actually write some of their own modules. Turn based of course.

And ideally every project would use MCA as lead writer.

Fix what? I want strategy in my strategy and mouse smash in my mouse smashing. M&B and CK do not go together in any possible way. Any game where your character can kill hundreds of enemies alone has nothing to do with any kind of tactics or strategy, its just superhero bullshit.

I am very disappointed that anyone could suggest this kind of thing. What next? FP Fallout shooter? Oh wait, true, we live in dangerous times.
