The first one looks wrong. First there's a general description of Feng, saying he's and old bastand, very greedy etc. Then in the next paragraph, he's a nice old man. It makes little sense. The player will obviously know they are getting fooled, and the character would have to be pretty dumb to first hear all these nasty things about him, and then just forget about all of it. What about different intros, or at least make it more neutral?

Perhaps instead of "what a friendly old man" it could say "He wasn´t such a bastard after all".

Unless the friendly old man was sarcasm...

I disagree. Let's take Rosh, for example. He's a mean old bastard, yet if you don't make him angry, he's a friendly guy, no? Same here. Or Unforgiven (the movie with Eastwood). His character had a horrible rep, but many movie characters would have a different opinion of him.

The player will obviously know they are getting fooled...
Why? Just because he's a greedy bastard? At best you'd think that you may have overpaid for his services.

Elhoim, will you try another journal with the scrollbar inside the text area, instead of having a tiny column of stone between the scrollbar and the text? Both the text background and scrollbar background are close enough to be in the same frame and it might look better, more relaxing.

I have to say I really enjoy the way relations with NPCs are portrayed in the journal. I might actually read it and appreciate doing so, unlike with other games.

But I might have to change all other screens that have a scrollbar...

I´m not ruling it out, but I won´t promise anything.
