Just wondering if anyone else tried playing JA2, 1.13 on insane difficulty.

I had to turn on the "drop all items" and enable bobby ray gun's to awesome in order to get where I am currently; Controlling 3 towns, getting hordes of elites coming to take back the towns.

It's pretty much a totally different game with that difficulty. If you like tough games.. definitely give it a go. ^_^

I did get pretty far on one playthrough - tho I did adjust the enemy patrols/reinforcements numbers and such by quite a bit, since I very much prefer the tactical squad combat over the militia vs. Deidranna's forces tug-of-war.

Do you normally play without the "drop all" option?

Yeah i usually play without the drop all. Had to take it in the beginning to get ammo. Still controlling only 3 towns atm. 30+ days now. =/

Problem is holding the towns.. winning it in the initial battle isn't the tough part.

For me, the problem with insane difficulty is that the game bogs down: you have to fight battle after battle without real progress. While it's not that bad to be honest, I like to finish games within a reasonable amount of time. Having a life sucks like this.

Am controlling 4 towns now. Turning on sci-fi mode is probably a mistake for this difficulty setting. Had to clear the entire place with only 3 mercs. Money is a huge issue.. Only getting about 14 k a day with 3 mines up.

Worst part is during the first scene of the bug-infested mines, if the miners die you lose loyalty rating from the towns. So after the first mine, alma went down to 5%, and drassen to about 30%. =(

Anyways.. am working on my 5th town now. Having to clear 40-50+ troops with 3 ppl is kinda rough.

Heh after a long long break, i finally went back to finish the dumb game.

Quite simply, screw the towns, take your van filled of ammunition, charge straight into the garden maze. Kill, enter the underground bunker, then go upside and shoot the queen.

Don't bother holding the towns.. waste of time. -_-
