Vulture's Claw is fucking awesome!

Sure roguelikes don't need graphics and mouse support but it's so much nicer when they do have them. Until now I didn't know what I was missing, and I want all my roguelikes with graphics now. I've become a dirty graphics whore and I'm totally unrepentant. If someone made something like this for ADOM I would suck their dick.

Gameplay footage for Vulture's Eye. Claw looks the same.

I don't know, Nethack looks much better with tiles than this.

ADOM for some reason is so good that it doesn't need tiles at all- it's the only Roguelike I can look at without tiles. And Dungeon Crawl, but that one is so unfinished...

First time I'm seeing perspective like that in a 2D game, it looks nice.

For some reason, I really don't like roguelikes where I can't see the whole map at once. Hence, I absolutely need to play ASCII style. Anyway, I can't imagine playing NetHack with point-and-click. It'd take like 400 hours to complete a game.

There's no entailment here. You can have ASCII roguelikes where a level does not fit on one screen (Moria), and you can have e.g. Nethack with graphical tilesets in which it is otherwise (depending on resizing the window etc):

Definitely. I just can't play NetHack without the simple, readable charm of ASCII graphics. Being able to see the whole map at once is a big thing.

Jasede, what are you talking about? Crawl is too finished. If you haven't played Crawl Stone Soup, you should check it out as well... they made the game 10x more interesting and convenient to play.

Stone soup? What are the differences to Dungeon Crawl? I mean the one where you can be a mummy, a ghoul, a kobold, a naga, and so on, with a crapload of skills and spells and gods.

My first encounter with Nethack was the Falcon's eye version, moved on to tiles, gives more area for imagination.
