Don't bother with Wizardry imo. Get Eye of the Beholder 2. It is the perfect introduction to blobbers, there is no better. Just make sure you grind a bit and go back to old areas to exlore them thoroughly and kill everything when it respawns. It is the only way I know of to survive the late stages of the game if you get that far.

What is rubbish exactly? Plenty of people agree the Wizardry games are for autists only. You repeat the exact same actions, in slow turn based phases, a billion million times, in a billion trash mob encounters. M&M games have basically no combat, you just run around the world one shotting stuff constantly. If you are a story fag read a book, if you are into exploration, leave your house. Games should have gameplay. EOTB and LOL are the best beginners RPGs which is what this thread was supposed to be about. And Magic of Grimrock (which no doubt you know absolutely nothing about) is one of the best blob experiences you can get.
