'Redesigned' sounds like a threat coming from Ubisoft. I'm guessing they meant something along the lines of 'redrawn'?

The differences are too small to justify an HD re-release.

My guess is they fiddled with it a bit to release in on tablets, and then decided they could cheaply port it to pc and grab some easy cash.
