Neither. It is a bad Diablo clone and an awful FPS.

As said above, shitty diablo clone.

The only good points are that the "summoner" class had some interesting mechanics that were wasted in such an awful game, and that the setting was interesting - Basicly the poor man's version of the second and third "acts" of SMT1, with demonic hordes on the rampage, human survivors hiding in underground bases, and summoners walking the thin line between reaching Gnosis with the demons and saving humanity.

But then the good things about the summoner class died after a while of the game being shit, and the setting was made hollow by retarded dialogues, stupid quests, and zero interaction. No saving graces, and there are far better "Supernatural Post-Apocaliptic" settings and games to waste your time with.

If you want to get an accurate impression of it, but too lazy to remove it from an inventory, shit in your toilet, stick your head in there and flush. This is what the graphics and gameplay are like.

Lots of hate for HGL around here. It's not all that bad. Sure the story and dialog sucks balls but if you just want to run around killing stuff and getting loot there's plenty of that. How much fun that actually is is a matter of taste. But honestly it's not the spiritual successor to Diablo 2 that everyone was hoping for. If you want your Diablo fix, stick with Diablo.
