Normally, I would just consider this as an unimportant element of the game, which can be easily overcome by just not equipping this item.
But since most of the soldiers and guards of the pictures you have released so far, are wearing the heavy armor helmet, it is something that bothers me.
Elements that are used predominantly throughout the game, have a certain influence on the overall atmosphere that is created by the game.
Therefore, if it can be quickly fixed, I'd like to hear your opinion on that.

When looking at these pictures, I think that the helmet is somewhat too clunky, although that is probably the direction you were aiming at, in comparison to the light helmet.
Still, I think that it would improve the look, if you considered to smoothen the somehwat rough edges and hence giving it a slicker appearance.
Maybe it would be worth considering to take some of those elements for a heavy helmet (probably without the fancy head):

Furthermore I don't think that the helmet's two hair pieces look all that appealing. Personally I'd say that a long compound piece with a tail would look better.
(On top of that, maybe you should consider using different hair colours for the different armors. The brass armor could probably work with a black and white pattern , while the red one fits more to the silver/ chainmail one. This would create diversity among the guards and therefore improve the atmosphere)

Don't get me wrong: I know that this isn't an important feature and therefore issues like the lighting etc. should be your main focus, but still, if changes like that can be made quickly, they are probably worth considering.
