And the solution is to close Bioware down or sell it away ASAP?
Sorry new guy, I don't buy this argument. Taking in water fast? An 860mil investment and you want it to pay off in less than 10 years? Easy shit.
Be realistic, Bioware is in danger of running out of good will, but not going out of business. The amount of new followers they get per year is going to make up for that. Vicious cycle of hype > day one purchase will continue, becoming gradually less and less effective as time goes, but it's not closing down any time soon. Not even in the next 10 years. But it's okay, continue to masturbate to the possibility of Gaider going out of job, becoming a cheap fantasy romance novelist and Chris Priestly going back to his celeb bodyguard job or making guest appearance at Epic Meal Time on Tuesdays. It's stimulating, like expecting some hot chick's bra to fall off in the full view of the train.
Not new. Been here since 2005. Just got a new user ID.
Let's get a few things straight:
1. I have nothing against Bioware.
2. There will be no masturbating over the closure of Bioware. (The one in Canada, is the only one I'm talking about.)
3. I don't really blame Bio for any of this. EA makes them drink this kool-ade, but the formula ain't working.
4. Past history. EA is a studio shutting down bunch of mother fuckers. Under perform and you die. Bio is under performing.
5. Never underestimate the creative ways accountants can make closing a studio look good for the bottom line.
6. If I were Gayderps boss, I would put on my best flame retardant suit and fire him, by actually lighting him on fire. Then repeatedly kick him in the balls, until they completely turned into ashes, for the way he treats fans, paying customers, and acting like he's some sort of rock star in the gaming industry. (Get fuckin real you shitty little worm of a man.)
7. Bioware/EA just can't seem to stop shooting themselves in the foot with their fans.
I know people have been predicting the demise of Bio for a long time, but a this rate I don't see why EA would keep them open. The engaging story with super action elements and push awesome button to win (COD crowd) formula didn't work.
The writing is on the wall.
The end is nigh.
